About
Hutto’s been put on the golf map now that the first-class Star Ranch has opened up on what was once a cattle ranch, boasting a unique collaborative effort from the Morrish brothers (Jay and Carter) and the Bechtol, Russell design firm.
The course sits on a hill and is built around a centralized lake, featuring the typical spectacular Hill Country topography highlighted by plush, undulating fairways and bleached white sand bunkers.
No. 2 is one of the most difficult holes and the first real challenge of your golf day. The 417-yard par 4 has more of an open feel than some of the other holes, but it’s length generally means a rather long approach, and the green is surrounded by several massive bunkers.
Getting there : From Austin, take I-35 north and exit Parmer Ln. Turn right and go east on Parmer to Dessau Rd. Turn left and go north on Dessau, which becomes FM 685. Go 5 miles past FM 1825 in Pflugerville and the club is on the left.

Nice course
It’s long, it curves but it’s enjoyable.
Feels like a course that you may encounter in a resort.
Not so great is the constant view of apartments surrounding it, but doesn’t bother me.
Overall good course, and enjoyable.
Great course to play!
Our first time playing the course. It was in great condition and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We teed off at 7:42am and got in a 3.5 hour round; was fantastic and we beat the heat!
Tee times were too close together
Tee times seemed too close together. Some groups had 6 people playing. Felt rushed and didn’t enjoy the round.

Great course
I love playing Star Ranch. The price is a bit high, but with everything being more expensive right now, it is worth it comparatively. It is not too difficult, but also not an easy, boring course.
Underwhelming
This course was unimaginative and underwhelming compared to other similarly priced courses. The staff on the course were nice enough and the beer was cheap.

Loved everything about the course. Played with my 2 boys and we had an awesome time and the course was in great shape. Only hiccup was the pace of play. Backed up several times. Would definitely recommend.
