Old Brickyard Golf Course

Course was in great condition. Cart path situation is still under construction, but looks like it will be completed soon. Best value I’ve found in south Dallas.

The pace of play was horrible. They need to stop booking tee times so close to each other. They could benefit a lot from having an actual marshal come out and speed the pace of play. Won’t come here again.

Every hole is something new: elevated tee boxes, modulating fairway, skinny approaches. Weather was awesome and the views on the front 9 are impressive. You can be aggressive on the Par 3’s and birdie some Par 5’s. Pace was awful though. Still a great value.

Great variety of doglegs and elevations. Challenging but a lot of fun too. Need to keep it on the fairway because of deep roughs and lots of hazards

Always wanted to stop and play the Brickyard and finally did today. The course was not busy and we got done in under 3:30 which is nice. It is allot of fun to play and greens were nice and pretty fast! The course condition was above the price of admission so I was realistic about what to expect. You do not want to walk this course with all the hills an distance to the tee boxes. It would be a long day !! I will play it again and hit less club off the tee!!

Waited to post this review until after playing the course twice (2nd time I paid $24.35); my 18-hole score also improved 11 strokes between rounds Not all the holes depicted as having bunkers on the paper scorecard have bunkers; holes 1, 3, & 14 definitely do. I don't recall #6 or #15 having bunkers. Avoid going left on #1. Avoid going short & right on approach to #2 as there is water. Avoid going short & right off the #3 tee as the rough to the left of the trees is deep. The real trouble on #5 is around the green as the fairway ends prematurely; there is a ravine-like area surrounding the green that can punish a flawed approach. You will be approaching an elevated green at #7; water could come into play for a lengthy tee shot too far right for some. It is acceptable to go up to 50 yards long on #8 as there is a lot of land behind the green. There is a narrow entry to the fairway on #9. #12 serves as a stress release after the #8-10 stretch, as a well-placed fade off the elevated tee can roll for a while. It's much better to miss short than long on the downhill approach on to the huge #15 green. The round ends with three par 4s of varying difficulties & lengths; you will be punished slightly more for going right off the tee on #16 & #17 than on #18. Fairways are in good shape.

I was fortunate to have played this course on this magical day!! I made my first every hole in one on hole 6 a par 3. Gilbert Garcia was a witness he was playing with me at the time. Old Brickyard gave me a memory for my lifetime. Thank you again had a wonderful time.

Brickyard is pretty good shape right now. The fairways are green and not too hard. The Greens could use some work a few have bare spots and the speeds are very inconsistent throughout the course. But all in all its getting back to where it used to be. Check your cart before you head out its hit and miss on getting a cart that can make it up some of the inclines on course.

Tough course with a lot of blind shots and elevation changes. Was a blast to play.

Played an evening time at 4pm thinking it might be a little less busy...boy was I wrong. There were people everywhere. I was lucky to get a cart. I ended up only playing 9 holes due to getting sandwiched so much between groups and noone was letting anyone play through but there wouldn't have been a point to. But in all fairness with the Covid stuff going on...golf is one of few things you can still do in groups at the moment. The course was gorgeous...greens were faaaaaaast. The layout is pretty neat. Some awesome elevated par 3's and pretty hilly par 4's and 5's. I would play this course again in a heartbeat..especially for 20 bucks in the evening. Just wish the pace was a little more smooth. A+

Great, challenging course. Elevated tees playing thru a valley, with hills, water, mounds, and fairways that call for hybrids and long irons over 3W and Drivers.

Windy day, and I stuck to 19 degree hybrid to keep ball in play. Watch for water, ravines, and balls going off the fairway to 40 ft drops.

Your mid iron game must be accurate. Due to wind and Tstorms, was only able to play front 9.

There are air pockets, valleys where you have to aim at 45 degree angle to green if you want to play the wind on #4 par 3. Better if you half swing a 5 iron and play it low. LOL

If you are good at carving the wind, and have a natural draw, then this course is for you, for all the hazards are on the right side. If you have a fade, bring a few balls you care not to lose and hope for the best.

This was a fun but challenging layout. I'll definitely be back in the near future.

Some work going on but not restricting or interfering....great value for the money...will be back again....greens in good shape...just hot in Texas...all in all very satisfied
