About
Rowlett’s first course has been laid out over a flat range of pasture, supplemented by 15 acres of lakes and over 1,000 new trees. Designed to be hacker friendly, the lack of mature trees provide an especially generous look and feel, tempting the mid-level handicapper to tee it up from the 7,191 yard tips and go long off the tee. Bent greens are the highlight of the round here–they roll true and provide solid opportunities to snake in a few long putts.
Getting there : Off of I-30 exit Dalrock Rd. and drive north through Hwy. 66. A half-mile past 66 veer left on Princeton, which dead-ends at Liberty Grove. Turn right into the Waterview division and take Waterview Pkwy. to the clubhouse

Golfer Reviews
Windy and SLOW = a beating
It was windy and super slow. They really need to work on pace of play here. I like the course. The greens were in excellent shape. Did I say it was slow? Way too slow. We as golfers should not be willing to accept an almost 5 hour round of golf no matter what the weather. I still had fun but it was slow.
Best greens for money.
If you like to golf a lot you look for courses that feel like real golf but are not real expensive. Greens are well kept and the course is no push over. The staff is great, especially Lonnie.
Loved It.
Great course. Great facilities and staff. I'll be back.
Great course.
I play here a lot and the course and greens are in great condition. The pace of play went smooth until we got to the 17th hole. I don't exactly know what was going on but it was backed up 3 groups.
Great price, great golf.
The course is extremely well maintained. Everyone on the course is extra friendly. The only negative is, depending on where you live, one has to drive to Rowlette to play it.
Very accommodating
Great staff....definitely recommend...great value and staff
We appreciate the comments, thanks for coming out and we'll see you again!
Enjoyable
Was rained out this past weekend but it was third time to play this course. We drive down from Texarkana and Waterview is becoming our "go to" course whenever we are in greater Dallas. Everything is in great shape - tee boxes, fairways and greens putt true. Must hit fairways if you can't handle uneven lies along the rough! Beautiful course.
Thanks for the kind words, and we appreciate you coming out. If you're looking for Saturdays, we have a men's league that plays every other Saturday. Ask us for more information next time you're out.
Can't wait to play again
Had a 4:22 tee time, but squeezed in 14 holes in the 3 hours of sunlight. There were a few people walking the course for exercise and it was a little nerve racking when you are not aware of them until after your ball lands. I can't wait to get out there and play again, really good fairways and greens rolled true. Scoreable course as you can lose the ball right and left and still be able to shoot at the green. Pretty long at times especially into the wind.
This course is in really good shape for August.
Tee boxes are all in great shape. Don't need that sledge hammer to get the tee into the ground.
Fairways are "super" fast compared to many courses that I have played lately. Staff has not been afraid to clip the grass in the fairways which helps the ball advance. Many other courses are letting the fairway grass grow long to protect from the drought and save water, which lessens the fairway roll.
Fairways are long. A number of new tree plantings will help close up some of the open angles to the greens as they mature. There are water ponds on the course, but they are not a major factor if you stay in the fairways.
There are many sand traps which are all maintained. Most greens are in great shape. A couple were spotty, but they are watering and using fans to keep them from decline.
Enjoyed the course and will play it again.
6some held up play
Notified the proshop of the 6 some in front of us and they sent out the marshall to break it up. Once marshall left, they joined back up and the marshall never came back to check on them. This made it a 3 hour back nine when it should have only taken 2.
Other than that, the greens are in decent shape but the fairways are hard as a rock. I paid $27 but would never pay the $55 price that it normally is.
Would only recommend this course for their twilight rate. Not worth $55.
Great when don't have to play behind large group with kids
I don't mind having kids at the course it's a great experience to learn, however it really slows down the others you could easily go from a 3 hour game to 4.5 or 5 hour depending on the experience. It's even more frustrating when there's a teaching group ahead of you and you're waiting on a 8-10 year old to sink their putt. Marshall's should make a point to move them along and they don't. Other than that its a great course to play.
Nice fun course
Friendly staff, open golf course, and quick rounds by the cart girl complimented this mostly open golf course that was forgiving of some stray shots (as long as you can avoid the water). The greens were a little bumpy an worn, but it's the middle of summer in Texas and my friend didn't have any trouble hitting every putt on the back nine. Look forward to going back and playing there again.
Call ahead first
I booked my tee time through GOLFNOW... got to the course and asked out of curiosity what the green fee for that time was. He said it was $5 CHEAPER than what I booked it for through GOLFNOW. He tried to refund the difference but said since it was done online it wouldn't let him.
CALL AHEAD TO GET RATES, then compare to what GOLFNOW says they are saving you.
Ok
The greens were in excellent condition but the sand traps were either too wet or hard. Other than that the course was well maintained and I enjoyed playing Waterview
good as always but Some greens were a little bumpy, which is abnormal
New trees Should add challenge in the next few years.
In GREAT Shape
Course is in great shape. Greens are moderate speed but in perfect shape - the ball rolls great. You can throw the balls at the holes and they receive well. Pace was slow but it was 97 degrees with high humidity yesterday/
Good Value for the money.
Great Course!
Loved playing out there a couple of times over 4th of July week. I had forgotten about this course and had not played it in years! Only issue I had, was the other players. There were 5 idiots behind us, being rude most of the day. They were each their own cart, whistling and saying "come on"! There was no where to go, as there were groups ahead of us, and we were not holding up pace of play at all. I guess Waterview can't pick the people that play there, but I was sure these were a bunch of regulars.
it's unfortunate that you had the experience you did here at Waterview. Pace of play if something that we monitor on a daily basis, and our data confirms your comments of 4:30. We do set the pace for 4:30 for 18 holes of golf. I do know that was one of the windiest days here, which slowed play down a little more. If you will email me waterviewgm@americangolf.com, I would love to have you back out here once the snow is gone!
