Lakewood Country Club
About
Lakewood Country Club of Naples sprawls across 52 lush acres that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including several different bird species. Located just outside of downtown Naples, Marco Island is just a few minutes away. The golf course snakes around four freshwater lakes, the sparkling waters contrasting beautifully with the native trees and shrubs that border the fairways and greens. The par-60 course is ideal for beginners, offering a round with a conveniently quick pace of play that will still put your short game skills to the test. Making putts is particularly challenging. Most of Lakewood Country Club of Naples's greens are elevated and you'll encounter water on 14 holes. There are also 28 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Every hole has a risk-reward scenario in play, which keeps the low handicappers happy but also gives new golfers the confidence to tackle the golf course without the fear that it's too much to handle.

Too pricey for what you get
Like all other courses in Naples during this time of the year, you pay 2 to 3 times what the courses are worth. So
2nd Time is the Charm !
On our first play(see review) the previous week, pace of play was terrible…slow groups , open holes, no marshaling.
This week there was a marshal working the course and all groups were in position……pace was fine. It was much more fun!
The course might be reasonable for a quick practice round at $30 but is not good value at its actual cost of $54.
The fairways are not well maintained and are not in good shape. The greens from one hole are almost on top of the next hole's tee box so watch for balls coming at you.
The "warm up area" consists of two sad looking mats hitting into an ancient net.
It's a typical executive course by Florida standards. Pretty much all par 3s and no par 5s. With a total distance of 3,010 yards, the average hole length is 167 yards.
The staff are friendly and nice but that is not going to make or break my round or the enjoyment there of.
I wouldn't go too far out of my way to play at this course.
Fun play - Inflation !
Nice and interesting course. Good greens. We had a great day paired blindly w 2 fine gentlemen. Homes and structures are close by so wild shots can have consequences.
Was $75ish 3 years ago….now $125. Capitalism !….which is fine by us.
We enjoyed it thoroughly.
Inexpensive Option in Naples
I was looking to take my wife out for golf as we were vacationing in Naples. We didn't want to spend $150 per person or more, and Lakewood appeared in my GolfPass search. It was a value based decision - but as a novice+ golfer, my wife enjoyed the experience more than I did.
I think I played the entire round with about 5 clubs.
The staff were very friendly - from the counter staff to the cart guy. All smiles and very helpful.
The course played slower on the front 9, as several groups must have dropped off after only 9 holes. As we looked around the course, about 60% of the groups playing were mixed (male & female, or all female).
Nice Good Value Play
Perfect for those looking for a short course play. Interesting holes. Some tiny greens that were a fun challenge .Reasonably good course conditioning.
Too bad they run ‘em off the first tee as fast as possible…..thus we pulled up on every tee to watch the group in front of us tee off. Lots of time to kill. Never saw a marshall to ask slow groups to keep up w the group ahead …..so too many open holes.
Other than pace of play , it was an enjoyable experience.
