Fun and fair and affordable
Very enjoyable round at Turnbull Bay. Nice mix of styles hole to hole: Many longer, open holes where you can pull the driver out of the bag and let it rip, but some where 3W or even shorter is smart play. Water comes into play on many holes, but more laterally than forced carries (although there are a few forced carries, particularly one long one from the tee on the last par 5 from the back tees). The greens were in fair shape, a little on the slow side but rolled true. Turnbull Bay is very scenic in that it is built in the "Florida woods" with lots of palms, pines, and oaks. The cart path between holes sometimes meanders under the canopy of the woods like a living tunnel. But those woods and water sometimes narrow the landing zones. My accuracy was poorer than usual for me today, and I paid the price with several lost in the woods or the water. In summary, a challenging yet playable course, with tees appropriate for all skill levels.
Not bad but course needs a little attention, greens were in good shape.
Bunkers in poor condition, trim some trees along the fairway.
Long Tee Shots Required
Interesting course. Several holes require a long tee shot to carry a water hazard. I played the white tees. Would recommend this course. Good condition and layout.
Enjoy playing around the houses, nice scenery
There is such an improvement on the course over previous years, I stopped playing there but I an back.
Best Greens around
Great course some challenging holes and great greens
The course and the people working there were very nice and helpful. Pace of play was great. Generous fairways with big undulating greens.
My wife and I were in Daytona for a week and wanted to play a quick 18. We arrived at the course about 45 minutes early and the people at the Pro Shop were very nice and friendly and let us go ahead and start early. The course was average in difficulty with fairly wide fairways and large greens. The greens were in good shape but it just so happened that the fairways had just been aeriated, so they weren't at their best. We were playing pretty fast and came up on a group on No. 13. They waved us through on No.14. We played it and went on to No. 15, a 150 yard par 3. I stepped up to the tee and promptly hit my 7 iron and the ball ended up exactly where the groundskeeper had dug the hole. It was my 2nd career hole in one and it was made possible by Golf Now.
Tree lined course
A nice course. Quiet and tree lined. The Greens are nice but the fairways, rough, and tee boxes are inconsistent. If you don't hit it very straight, bring some extra balls as this course is narrow and full of hazards.
Overall a great place to play golf
Played this course twice in the same week and found the staff and fellow golfers great. The greens are large and in great shape/almost like fake grass!!And their prices for snacks/drinks are half of what I usually have to pay at other courses.
Enjoyed playing this course on thurs dec 6. Greens were fast and true and fairways were in decent shape for this time of year. Staff was great and very helpful. Will be playing this course again.
