Golfer Reviews
Course well maintained, staff is great. Greens were very fast, but can deal with that. Only complaint was how firm the greens were. Soft chips and approach shot were bouncing off or running well past
Fun Round
Never played the course before. A friend invited me to play. Was not sure what to expect. I found the course was in good shape. Greens were fast and true. Typical Don Ross, small but challenging greens. Would definitely play again.
Great shape
Overseed looks beautfiu. Everything in great shape. Really busy out there as well. Greens rolling nice, but not blazing fast like they sometimes are. Best course in the area.
Great shape
Course is in great shape. Range is still down per usual when they have a hurricane. Would be nice to install concrete or steel poles for netting, so they aren't the only course without a range for months post hurricane waiting for poles AND netting to replace.
Annoying they don't give walkers any sort of cart fee discout as well.
Donald Ross Classic in Great Shape
First off, I got paired with good group of local guys .....the afternoon started out fine, interrupted by rain showers for a couple of holes on back9. Layout is simple, some parallel & some dogleg holes, but its the green that make this course challenging. The greens are undulating just enough to keep your attention, and quick speed. The sand traps are well maintained, some tee-boxes need leveling, but no complaints from me. We had fun, shot my Handicap (didn't lose a ball), and played at a good pace (slowed a little after rain & caught 5-some of regulars) ......highly recommended for a non-resort / non-glitzy course. In fact, the clubhouse is probably 65+, so you're not paying for the pomp&glitz. Thanx to GN for the Hot Deal discount, and I will be back just to absolve the DbleBogie #4 & par5 bogies (they are too easy not to par).
