Needs water
I knew the green were punched 4-5 weeks ago but the fairways were terrible needed to play move the ball any where u could find grass. Lakes were very low.
Needs Water
Bare spots everywhere. The city isn’t allowing them to water the fairways and around the greens. Honestly the worse shape I’ve ever seen it.
Give it some time
The aeration and lack of rain is causing playability issues right now. The fact there is no water in many of its ponds is an indicator. Hopefully, they get some rain soon. The fairways and greens need at least another month.
Sanded greens
Wish courses would disclose maintenance activity. Worthless to try to putt on those greens for prob a month now Shame.
Good Value
The course is fun, a bit narrow, with holes quite literally touching, and greens tight to tee boxes. The clubhouse is older, but everything works, they do a great job maintaining an older course. It's a lot of fun, but don't expect bells & whistles. Go play with friends, enjoy some amazing weather, and a really solid course.
Snow?
Arrived at course and saw the putting green looked like a beach. Pro shop said they did it a week ago and it was on GolfNow. Have been paying for GN for 6 years now, it was on there. Had to wipe the said off the greens in front of your ball just to get the ball moving. You could see the tracks from whatever they put the sand on the greens.
Great day at new Smyrna Beach golf course
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all aerated. Rains the day before washed in a great amount of Sand so conditions were actually good.
Aerated greens unannounced
GolfNow failed to note that the reduced rate for the green fee was due to course aeration. The greens were impossible to putt. The fairways were VERY dry, creating too many bare spots.
Embarrassing
It’s sad that there was no warning about the greens being sanded when I booked a hot deal tee time. When I say sanded they had at least an 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch of sand on the greens. The clubhouse employee claimed that there was a pop up on your website telling everyone that was the case. I proceeded to show them that wasn’t the case by booking another tee time right in front of them. They then proceeded to bad mouth the Tee Off and Golf Now websites for the problem stating they are lousy websites. I’ve used both for years and appreciate how easy and useful your apps are. They then tried to say it was probably because I used a mobile device. Wow what a uniformed individual they turned out to be. Everyone uses their phone to book tee times now!
Good value.
I really like the layout of this course. It is generally a good course to play. The greens were just sanded as well as the fairways were just aerated. It made putting very difficult.tt should be great once we start getting some rain. I do recommend this course. It is well maintained. I
NSB Always a fun round
We have 3 tee times booked and only 10 of us showed up. No problem with the staff. The course was in great shape as always. I had problems with the greens but it wasn’t the greens fault- I just couldn’t adjust to the speed. They roiled true and fast.
