Awesome Day
We had a great day of golf at a very nice course. I have played it about 5 times this year and looking forward to going back.
Great time
Played today in under 4 hours. Course is in great condition. Staff very friendly. Only thing was very windy but cant blame them. Pro tip have dinner after your round restaurant is great.
Great golfing
had not played new Smyrna in over a year. Many courses around Volusia county they have got very rundown from overuse fairways, limited grass, tea boxes, bad shape, etc. went to new Smyrna on a hot deal. It was pleasantly surprised tea boxes great shape greens were beautiful a little slow, but still good. And the fairways were amazing. There was even this green stuff on there when I asked him about it, they called it grass! The rates have gone up this year everywhere the courses should be better! Try new Smyrna you’ll like it.
Beautiful course except for the greens
Course was green everywhere, everything overseeded and very nice. Only complaint was the greens Very inconsistent speed from green to green, some the speed of a Brillo pad. None fast at all. Very disappointed, greens are THE most important factor for a golf course.
Donald Ross Say No More
I always try to play any Donald Ross courses I find during my travels. New Smyrna is a Ross muni that certainly fits the bill. It’s not fancy, but it’s a great layout and it’s in pretty decent shape.
I paid thirty bucks for a Hot Deal time, so the price was definitely right. If you’re in the area, give New Smyrna a try.
Solid
Played this course more than 100’times. Although last played three years ago. Course in great shape. Greens were outstanding if not a little slow. But although no complaints. Very good value.

Greens are tricky
well kept course, one issue the next hole tee are in the back of the green your playing.
so if you CRUSH IT more thn 10 to 20 yard youll most likely hit the person on the tee box.
move the tee box over short the white tee please. I wont play it again cause i bit my nails it wht wind catch my ball and i CRUSH IT on the tee bax and have some grumpy old man yell and dirty look me.
Those greens a tricky, hord to two even whn i pop it on the green at 187 yrds
But the pizza at Tiano is worth stop at the bar and have a pizza ready at the turn... PIC ATTACHED
Donald Ross is awesome
I've been trying to play this course for a couple of years and, if anything, it exceeded my expectations. It was a very windy day, so that really added a lot of difficulty, but so much fun. I hope I can play it again.
Cmon man!!
What happened?!? I have been a regular at this track for 30 years! The pace of play and the lack of on course organization is pushing all the locals to go elsewhere. A lot of the greens on the front nine are really bad. It is an absolute 💩 show out there. 👎🏼
Great Municipal Course
Course is very busy. Pace of play was slow due to solid tee times. Course and greens were in very good condition. Will play again.
Good shape
Played after a few days of heavy rain, so cart path only, which was fine. Course in good shape.
