New greens keeper/bad choice
After the remodeling by Bobby Weed, the course was in good shape. With the hiring of a very special greens keeper, he got it into fantastic shape...fairways, tees, and greens. Unfortunately he left for an exclusive golf course in the Bahamas and his replacement has run the course into the ditch. The greens, tees, and fairways during his 6 or so months have deteriorated to the point of being unplayable. I do not recommend this course unless you expect the very minimum from a golf course
nice muni
Nice layout. Donald Ross design built after he passed. Condition were'nt as good as the past. Mostly the greens. The price may reflect the conditions. The green shapes and bunkers make the course. Still enjoyed it.
Course was in good shape.
The course was in good shape but some of the bunkers needed more sand in them but it was worth the amount paid to play it.
group three ahead had a holdup of 5 groups waiting
great course players ahead could of let those behind play through
This course is good for somone who doesnt hit the fairways alot
The course was in good shape. A little short on some of the holes from the white tees. Overall, the length was fair for the average golfer. The 210 yard par 3 was the toughest hole. Unless you have a bad hook or slice, there wasn't any problems. I enjoyed playing the course and would do so again. The staff was very pleasant except in the bar. He wasnt very friendly and seemed to have to go out of his way to get us a hot dog and drink at the turn. Overall, a very nice experience.
For the price the course was nice
Could use more water holes. Sands traps were in great shape. Fairways were also good. For the time of year the greens were in good shape.
Great local course
Course is in great shape with all of the rain! Resturaunt was being redone though, so no food or drinks besides water...
Nice course certainly priced great - flat layout like the old days
While the course is flat and short, bring your better game when the wind blows -- which is most of the time. The greens are acceptable and fast -- make sure you are below the pin on your approach. Water is in play on some holes and many greens are somewhat a island- hard to hold without a great shot. For the price, this course will make your day and all skill levels should have a good time. Remember, this course takes you back to the way courses were laid out many years ago. Have FUN !
Good variety of holes.
Some holes are long but also has holes that are easier to reach. The greens are in good shap and the roughs well maintained.
Very friendly staff, well maintained course.
The staff was very friendly and accomodating. From checkin through cart return, I felt like I was welcomed and enjoying my round. The course is not overly long, and while there is some water, hazards are not overly difficult. Greens ran smooth at average speed. A very enjoyable round.
Interesting course - in great shape
I have played this course a number of times and always find it to be in good shape. Lots of friendly players to team up with and just an overall pleasant experience.
Interesting course.
It seemed like every hole had it's own chalenge, water, woods, sand or dogleg. Enjoyed playing this course very much.
play was a little slow, but it was really busy. average difficulty
I have played this course a number of times over the past 4 years. Each year the conditions have improved. This year they have new electric carts and the conditions on the course have continued to improve. the greens hold very true when putting.
This is a beautiful and well kept golf course.
It is easy to praise this course for its physical presence. The problem we encountered was with the pace of play. The front nine was played in a little over two hours with waits on nearly every hole. The back nine was a marathon with waits for as many as three groups in front to get off, A call to the starter was ineffective and the pace improved only when one of the slowed groups in front of us left the course. It took more than 3 hours to get around the back nine. I will try the course again but if the same situation arises I probably will have to miss this very beautiful course.
lots of traps
beautiful weather....great track ....lots of fun will return very soon
Great course and excellent condition.
Been playing course for almost 10 years. It is in best shape for January in all those years. A challenge but fair.
Course is in excellent condition, tees , fairways, and greens.
I have played this course several times a year for the past few years and it is the best condition ever!
Also, the lady at he desk and the starter are al;ways super courteous and friendly.
Thanks.
NIce course and fun to play.
Interesting course layout with a good mix of accuracy required and distance on some hole to make it challenging. We enjoy playing this course.
Course wide fairways, moderate number of fairway bunkers. Water seldom comes into play, greens are very slow.
This course is always well maintained. With tees very close to preceding greens, the layout of the course promotes the option of walking. However, that very feature means that those who overshoot the greens on approach risk endangering the players ahead of them.
The only real complaint is that the greens are too slow. The turf is kept long enough that players have a hard time judging breaks and must make a huge adjustment for pace from what is standard in the area.
Flat but well bunkered greens originally designed by Donald Ross
Course is in good shape with recent overseeding of fairways and greens for winter play. Course plays well from white tees and is a good challenge from blue tees with well placed bunkers.
