Lake Diamond .. A Hidden Gem
This course has had a lot of work done since I first played it years ago and is a gem to play. Not extremely difficult, but not overly easy either. I am a senior, played from the green tees (one down from pro tees) and was still able to shoot in the single digits over par. Excellent for me. The price is extremely welcome for golfers on a budget. Give this course a try. You will not be disappointed. Very enjoyable play. I definitely will be back.
Great Challenge
We played as a three-some, and moved along rather quickly. The course was in fairly good shape with lots of challenges. It appears that it is a course that may be making a 'come back'.
The greens were large and difficult to read. This feature only added to the challenge.
Each of the three of us looks forward to playing the course, again!
Hey It's Lake Diamond
This course is a favorite of mine but its always a coin flip as to what kind of shape you will find it in. Very poor the last few years but it appears that some care ($$) is being spent on it. The greens were good and some landscaping upgrades have been made although the tree on 11 is missed. Fairways just ok but for pace of play and cost its a good deal this time of year.
crane holes
The greens have lots of grass and slope, but they are a little slow. Now for the rest of the course , absolutely awful can't find any grass in most places and the tees, fairways and around the greens are full of crane holes. I mean you could twist or break an ankle there are so many, the course has a nice layout but the maintenance is non existent though I did see a shovel stuck in the ground on #9 ( no worker ). You have to roll the ball because of the holes and lack of turf. The funny thing is that I only saw 2 cranes with 2 youngsters so when they grow up there will be twice as many and they will need a sinkhole repair man due to the lack of attention paid to this problem. How anyone could rate this 3,4, or 5 stars is beyond me, I gave it a 2 just for the greens. The layout I would give a 3 1/2 but the condition 0-1.
Full of crane holes
Greens are full of grass and the course has a nice layout, though they are a little slow. The yardage markers are not even close compared to my range finder. Beware of crane holes they are everywhere, around the tees, greens and fairways. I mean you could twist or break an ankle , they are so plentiful you have a hard time in a lot of areas just trying to find a spot to place your ball. The funny thing is I only saw 2 adult cranes with 2 youngsters, when the 2 youngsters grow up they will need a sinkhole repair man to fix. the place. Just total lack of maintenance , they need someone to take the bull by the horn and GET-R-DONE. I did however see a shovel stuck in the ground on #9 (no sign of worker). All in all this could be a nice place to play but right now I don't know how anybody could rate this at 3,4,or 5 stars. I gave it a 1 just because of the greens and no other reason. Very disappointed even for the great price on golf-now (13 bucks) . I do not recommend this course at this time-----did I mention the lack of grass and holes in there fairways---- in need of help.
interesting holes on most
all around great deal
interesting hole
most hole are short but cant see the pin
Nicely laid out course
First time playing here. The course has a nice layout, well planned. The greens were very slow and not what we were used to but knowing that in advance is helpful. We would come back and play it again.
Greens are on the smaller side ut in great condition.
A good challenge for experienced golfers. The layout of the course is simple but yet requires accurate placements in order to score at par or lower.
HAS GREAT GREENS
Like the views the wildlife the greens were fast the staff were nice I recommend the course
Nice layout
Decent course -fairways a little thin but greens were in very good condition and quick. Plenty of course from the back tees even for low handicapper. Front nine is fabulous as it goes through the woods and you can't see any other holes. A good no frills golf course especially at GolfNow deals.
very slow pace
Quit after 13 holes. The guy I was playing with quit on the tenth tee as there were three groups on the hole. I continued and a twosome let me play thru. On the next hole another twosome let me play thru and on the fourteenth tee there were 3 twosomes playing the hole, one on the tee, one in the fairway and one on the green. Since I was playing poorlyI called it a day. Greens fairly good, fairways and tee boxes so so.
Good for the money
Staff was friendly, course was in great condition. Price was very competitive. Enjoyed my time there and look forward to next time.
All around very good
This course was in excellent condition and our group has already recommended to some other golfers. Would highly recommend it over other courses such as Pine Ridge, Huntington, Marion Oaks, Juliette Falls, Plantation etc. I am a 16 handicap and shot 4 strokes below my handicap because of the good condition of the course. We played in under 4 hours.
Golfnow did a very good job in booking our tee-off however I had to do it by phone as I have not been able to get the golfnow program to accept my password to finalize me setting up the account even after several tries.
Terrible Management
Club house _ pro shop very run down and dirty. Awful rest rooms. Very bad course conditions - no maintenance. Not worth the time or money. I haves played at over 650 golfs courses
Excellent value!
First time playing the course. My handicap index is 6 and my fathers is 21 (he is 74 years old). Not a long course for me but very enjoyable. You must think about your shots and the greens have tons of slope and rolled nicely - not exceptionally fast but very nice with comparable courses. Excellent value at $25 through GolfNow and I would recommend it to anyone who has played Rainbow Springs, Lakeside, Silver Springs Shores Country Club, The Links at Spruce Creek or other comparable courses.
Great Value Course
This course was in very good shape. I have not played a round for a couple of years and like some of the changes to the course like removal of some trees. The pace was good. The bunkers could have better sand in them as most were like playing on muddy sand.
great shape
this was one of best conditioned course in the last 2 years, the greens are in great shape, with just the right roll, all in all it is it real good shape.
Great Course for the Value
The front and back nice are a tale of two courses. The front nine dog legs and zig zags through the woods with a combination of wide and tight fairways. The greens are in excellent condition and medium speed. The rough is off the course and if your tee shot goes wide right or left you'll be hitting your second shot off of sticks and leaves.
The back nine is more civilized and winds through the neighborhood. Lots of water on the back nine, and while I didn't see any gators my playing partner said the gators come out in the summer and sunbathe on the shores.
It was a fun afternoon of golf and I would highly recommend this course.
Good track
The greens were in great shape . Fairways were green with some spotty bare areas . Normal for this area ,except for upscale courses .
