Top municipal course in South Florida
I have played many of the city's municipal courses throughout the Tri-County area and PBG stands head and shoulders above the rest. A very friendly staff invites you out to a beautifully manicured golf course. There is plenty of water and the back nine allows for some creative risk/reward scenarios. You will be hard pressed to find a better course for the price.
**on June 1, 2013, the PBG course will be closed for 5 months for an irrigation renovation!! Get your rounds in now!!**
Good Track
The starter was very grumpy and unfriendly. I tried to joke with him a few times and all he wanted was proof of purchase and cared to speak of nothing but that, almost like he thought we hadn't paid and we were trying to get on for free. It was cart-path only due to the rain and the ranger was quite annoying. He got on to one of our carts for going off the cart path becuase he was in direct line of another golfer hitting a ball, all of which while he sat on his cell phone off the cart path. He probably watched/passed by us 5-6 times throughout the time of play. It got to be annoying. Course was in decent shape for the weather. Had a good time. Only negative feedback was the grumpy starter Bob, and the ranger following us contasntly.
Good game
Course maintained well and friendly staff. We were playing with only two so we breezed through the round in three and a half hours. Will be back.
Didnt get to play!
We didn't get to play. The course denied my son and his school mate. He plays on the golf team and is 15 years old. They wouldn't let him play without an adult. This course said it supported the junior golf programs??? This was never stayed anywhere. Wasted the day, money to book on golf now.com, money to drive to the course. Very disappointed two 15 year old students on a local golf team were not allowed to play.
Nice course, somewhat challenging, and if you haven't played it ....
Try to play with someone who knows the course, because it can be hard to figure out the layout if its your first time. Several layup holes, several with two greens in sight (or the wrong green in sight.) But nicely done. Pace of play was 4 hrs, 15 min for a foursome, held up a little - maybe 20 minutes to a half hour- by slow group in front of us.
Need maintenance
Need maintenance. Too expensive for the quality of course
Ok OK OK
A decent track , some interesting holes and worth the money to play . Greens are fairly slow and course is open except a few holes where you have to place the ball. All in all not too shabby.
good price thin tees and fairways
the greens are very slow. the tees all are very thin not much grass.the layout is nice for this price i would play it again
Another Great Muni
Florida is blessed with the best municipal golf courses. This is another example of a fine public track. Well maintained. Plenty of challenges. Played forward due to wind conditions and lack of course knowledge...and no desire to work to hard! Greens in good shape, but not outstanding. Little bit of road noise and distraction on a few holes. Lots of elevated greens making a bump and run game diificult. Follow the hole handicaps...there's a reason why a couple of seemingly simple par 4s are rated at #1 and #2...keep the driver in the bag.
Just enough sand and water. Picturesque
As novice players (my wife & I) with only five years experience, this course was challenging but not exceedingly difficult. Greens were in superb condition as well as the fairways. Real enjoyable golfing.
Excellent value
Greens are in very good condition but slow. Good place to play for 10-20 handicappers.
Good course. Slow greens
The front nine is open wirh lots of water. The back nine goes thru the woods with narow fairways. A good course.
cheap for regular players
anyway, it is a good for all players.
But I want to recommand, if golfnow could book for teenage, it will be better.
And if players are profesional golfer, what price for them ?
Great for the price paid
Although the municipal course is just that, the course was in good shape. The scenery & wildlife was awesome and the value for the price we paid was great.
An other Roy Case desing: very interesting
This course has style. Nice variety of holes. Nice vegetation specially on the back nine. Soft fairways. The greens needed a cut. All of us enjoyed the experience. We Will be back. One person of the 4-some hurt herself. The staff and every group who followed us absolutely caring, respectfull and helpfull. Tank you to all of you and to your spirit, the medical center being included.
Great course, great staff.
Great Course in Natural setting. Carts with great GPS.
Excellent maintenance of fairways but some are dangerous because you don't know where the is going.
a little pricey but what isn't in west palm
I am new to golf so obviously my score was higher than needs to be addressed. However, I thought the course was very well maintained and challenging. I was playing alone and ended up being grouped with a couple which I didn't care for but it turned out all right and I had a nice day. It was a beautiful day so that helped. I will most definitely consider playing here again but only if I can manage a better rate.
Course is in roten shape
Tee boxes all sand and bare. Greens are bumpy and slow and fairways not cared for with lots of divots. Slow play as well.
Good track for a Public Course,
Players need to be more courteous to the greens my fixing their ball marks.
Nice course, interesting holes
This course was better than I expected. It had some very interesting layouts of some holes, especially 15. I would return and the price is reasonable. Some holes are tight. It is a very good municipal course. I still have to get use to the courses in the south because i play in the NE and they are completly different. It is great to have the GPS on the carts especially if you are not familiar with the course. We were a 2some and we could have finished in 3 hours. We palyed early morning.
