Not worth the price
At half the price it would have been fair. Better value at nearby courses, Morro Bay, Dairy Creek, Chalk Mountain, or Paso Robles GC.
The course is in great condition
Pace of play was o k. Greens eas in perfect condition. Freindly staff
Gorgeous views
Gorgeous views. Challenging course. Great not to have two fairways parallel.
better than expected
played on a whim as a single over thanksgiving..... nice classic layout in very good shape......greens were fast and true ..... very playable and walkable.... will play again when in the area
Best public course on the central coast of California.
I play here often. For the amount of players who play here the course is in great shape. The price you pay to golf here is very good. Food is served from opening til 3pm, it is tasty and priced well. Friendliness of the pro shop staff has improved! I would give you a review of the course but that may spoil a first time experience.
A place you should play
Very nice course. The greens were recovering from a recent punch. The course layout is really nice, you will be rewarded for good shots and pay for the bad ones :) I will definitely play this course in the near future.
Good quality of course
Only issue we had was being booked in the middle of a tourney and Marshall wanted to make us skip 4 holes to accommodate the tourney which we refused since no refund or anything was being offered. Besides that all was well
Enjoyed this course
This was a second time playing here. We enjoy the course. The course is in pretty good shape; fairways and greens. It is not perfect but well kept.
Both times we played the pace of play was basically determined by us. We held no one up but were also not held up.
Some holes you hit and cannot see far enough to see where your ball lands so hopefully on those you go pretty straight or the search could be hopeless.
The wind picks up on a few holes but in all a perfect day with enjoyable weather and nice course.
Fun day
Great place and easy to get to. Greens in great shape and fairways green and cut.
This course is long and challenging
I like this course because it somewhat challenging for me. It's long but a very good course. Overshadowed with hills, ponds and little valleys along the course. Personnel here are very friendly.
Beautiful day for golf. Fairways were in good condition. Greens in good shape. Nice playing with someone who plays there regularly'
If you have nothing better to do...
I play here mainly for the mild weather. Staff in proshop not very welcoming to GolfNow customers. Pace of play can be dreadful when playing behind 4 beginners who think it is fun to spend 10+ mins looking for a ball or talking with each other instead of playing on. Carts have no canopy so bring a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. Course layout has several blind shots so make sure group behind can see you or they will hit their ball into your group. I only play here as a last resort.
Fabulous Foursome
The four of us had a good time and looking forward to our next mini-tournament.
Hard to Evaluate
Unfortunetly, it was very windy. The worst wind I've played in in 50 years of playing golf. It was hard to keep the ball still enough on some of the greens to actually hit it before it started rolling. It may be that the wind had kept them from watering or properly maintaining the course, but it was not in prime condition.
Had the wind not been howling my evaluation of the course would probably be more positive. However, the course is difficult to find,
A great day of golf!
Myself and a friend had a very good day golfing at Rancho Maria Golf Course. The front nine went very smoothly we both played very good. On hole 12 the wind began blowing and it blew until the end of the round. My guess is that's just the way it plays there because you're on the other side of a small hill. And that brought on its own challenges but all in all it was a great day.
