Lost Key Golf Club
About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

5’-6’ away on 16 Par 3. Pretty close for a hole-n-one. Got the bird though! Great course. Photo submitted by stepgarr2 on 08/05/2021

Approach to No. 9 Green Photo submitted by ShragMagtite on 10/09/2017
Need to drive it straight.
Greens in excellent shape. Keeping the ball in the fairway pays big dividends. Beautiful setting with lots of wildlife.
Tough layout, good shape
Fairways, greens, fringes and bunkers all in good shape. Look forward to play again.
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MILITARY
I was a member at Lost Key Golf Club for over a year. I received military orders to move to a new location so I talked to John at the pro shop and then Randy who I was told could cancel my membership. When I spoke with Randy he said that he had canceled it and nothing else was needed. Come a few months down the road of me not even being in Pensacola I realized I was still being charged for the membership. I was put in contact with Mike Troyner, the general manager. He has now said that they will not refund me without written proof even though I played my last round there before I canceled and provided them with my orders dated for that next month. This is a course that takes advantage of its members and other golfers. The whole clubhouse should be fired and restaffed with people that actually know how to run a golf club.
Weekday special
Played here on a hot deal and it was a great value for the course. Immaculate greens
Can lose a ball on every single shot
Greens were perfect, not busy so played fast, very narrow and all penalty area on both sides on every hole and surrounding greens. Target golf for sure.
Lost Key
The course is an Arnold Palmer designed course so it is difficult. However, The course was not in good condition. Many bare spots in the fairways. Compared to Crafts Farm, Kiva Dunes, and The Peninsula, which we played during this trip, Lost Key was horrible. Additionally, the staff was nonexistent. We drove up to the bag drop and there was nobody there to meet us. We got our own carts. Based on my first impression I would not play or recommend this course to anyone.
Great day
Fairways are getting much better, but still a little burnt. Greens are outstanding. A little slow but heavy rain that morning. Very friendly staff and included range balls. The range is a bit of an eye sore but tees are solid.
Guys trip
Course is definitely a challenging one. Be on your game
Bad Shape
Worse conditioned Golf Course I’ve ever played in 35 plus years. Range is awful, fairways are even worse. To be fair, I would rate the greens an 8. I wouldn’t pay $25.00 for this course. That Arnold Palmer’s name is used here is shameful!!! I played this course about 10 years ago and it was very nice. They need a lot of money to fix this course!
Great Course
The course was in good shape with only a couple of greens burnt out
Fairways Sub-Par
First the good; the staff was great, the greens were immaculate, and the views were awesome.
Now the bad; the fairways were terrible, I had to move the ball nearly every shot to find grass. It is a very unforgiving, tight course, with no bailout on most holes.
100$ municipal course
Quite possibly the worst course I’ve played in my career. shot a 75, it’s a short course with a bad layout. Fairways had 3 different types of grass growing out of it. 10mil for a golf facility but forgot to put any money into the course. The only good thing I noticed about this course is the greens are not half bad.
It was cart path only because the course was too dry? Never heard of this
Fairways and many tee boxes were in awful shape. Greens were slow, but in good shape, looks like they were recently plugged and sanded. Course was very dry, starter said they are getting zero rain. The cart path only was as frustrating as how
Balls I lost.
Play Somewhere Else
I was very disappointed with my experience at this course. The fairways were completely burned out, making it nearly impossible to get a clean lie. The rough was unkept and patchy, giving the whole course a neglected feel. The greens were extremely slow and inconsistent, which made putting frustrating and unpredictable.
The layout is also extremely tight and feels underdeveloped — more like a practice track than a proper course. With the current conditions, the course is not worth the time or money. Unless major improvements are made to maintenance and course design, I wouldn’t recommend playing here.
Terrible Shame-Once great course is no more
Having played this course not long after it first opened decades ago, it was really disappointing to return to play today and find the course in such terrible condition.
The ground screw had apparently tightly mowed the course recently and either that or prior poor maintenance has resulted in the majority of each fairway being dead and brown or simply dirt. The greens had been aerated a week or two ago, but even then they were so shaggy, at least a half inch tall grass in many cases, that they were unbearably slow. Bunkers were not in great shape in many cases either and were certainly inconsistent. Tee boxes were severely crowned or sloped in a number of cases as well.
Overall, wouldn't bother coming back to play this course again which is a real shame, it was once a beautiful course.
