Lost Key Golf Club
About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

5’-6’ away on 16 Par 3. Pretty close for a hole-n-one. Got the bird though! Great course. Photo submitted by stepgarr2 on 08/05/2021

BE SMART!
Good fairways, perfect greens and tricky layout. Many times necessary to lay up even when you don’t want to. Keep your testosterone in check when playing here. Use the GPS and hit it to the big spots! Many hole the fairways will only be 15 or 20 yards wide. Fun if you play the course and not try to hit bombs. Even then, be sure and bring plenty of balls. Oh yeah, watch out for snakes and gators 😁
Course was in GREAT shape - best greens so far
We were a bit anxious about playing here due to us being told to bring plenty of balls and it's nickname of Lost Balls... Well that may have been true as we lost quite a few balls but the course was AWESOME. We played Kiva Dunes today and paid twice as much. I would rather play Lost Key again. They course is in much better shaped than Kiva. Really enjoyed the round. Still not sure where to hit the ball on some holes but that will just take time.
Great Course
Greens were in perfect shape. Tee boxes were in good shape and fairways were good as well.
There had been a lot of rain in the area so the bunkers were a little hard. Some sand could be added to them as well.
Plays great even after a flood!
We played after a very heavy rain storm in the early AM. The couse is sand based and drains extremely well. The greens were perfect, but alittle slower than usual as it was still lightly raining.
This is a shot makers course. Bring an extra sleeve of balls!
Very tough course
Incredibly narrow fairways with zero rough area for relief. Plan to lose some golf balls. Bunkers could use a little work but the fairways and greens were in absolutely perfect shape.
Really liked it
Super solid. The greens were great. I thought it was a good value for how nice it was. Definitely gonna lose balls there though if you don’t hit em straight.
perfect Greens
The place has perfect greens. very challenging, sometimes hard to see all green surface from tee box. wonderful course.
Lost ball
Expect to lose some golf balls during the round. Course is challenging multiple ways. Water on almost every hole, narrow fairways with trouble on either side and greens with a lot of bumners.
Immaculate greens
Course was immaculate. Greens were great and consistent. Couldn't ask for the course to be any better.
A Beautiful Course
Lost Key golf course was in fantastic shape when I played April 23, 2025. The greens were in amazing condition and very consistent on all 18 holes. The layout is somewhat challenging but not too difficult. Highly recommended.
Tight Course where accuracy is required
Lost Key is a great course on Perdido Key. Fairways are tight and shot accuracy is essential. Erratic shots off the tee will make your round look awful on your card. Course management is your friend. Greens were in great shape and well placed. There is abundant sand and water in play. The staff was friendly and helpful and they provided us with a great experience today.
Lost Ball
Nice course in great condition !
Very challenging for a senior golfer like me but it's one of the best in the area.
Play it !
Too slow play
Disappointed with pace of play not being enforced. We have played this course each year we are in the area.
This was the first time that extremely slow play was allowed.
There was a group of 5 allowed to play together with majority of group had not played golf before. Evidently the course management did not stress to the group to allow Singles and Twosomes to PLAY THRU,
There were several singles and twosomes that either quit playing or went around the group and did not play all holes due to the group.
No Grass
Very disappointed, most of the greens and a majority of the fairways had very little grass. If spend the extra mo ey and play somewhere else. Food in the clubhouse before the round was quick and good. Excellent Staff.
