About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

Play Somewhere Else
I was very disappointed with my experience at this course. The fairways were completely burned out, making it nearly impossible to get a clean lie. The rough was unkept and patchy, giving the whole course a neglected feel. The greens were extremely slow and inconsistent, which made putting frustrating and unpredictable.
The layout is also extremely tight and feels underdeveloped — more like a practice track than a proper course. With the current conditions, the course is not worth the time or money. Unless major improvements are made to maintenance and course design, I wouldn’t recommend playing here.
Terrible Shame-Once great course is no more
Having played this course not long after it first opened decades ago, it was really disappointing to return to play today and find the course in such terrible condition.
The ground screw had apparently tightly mowed the course recently and either that or prior poor maintenance has resulted in the majority of each fairway being dead and brown or simply dirt. The greens had been aerated a week or two ago, but even then they were so shaggy, at least a half inch tall grass in many cases, that they were unbearably slow. Bunkers were not in great shape in many cases either and were certainly inconsistent. Tee boxes were severely crowned or sloped in a number of cases as well.
Overall, wouldn't bother coming back to play this course again which is a real shame, it was once a beautiful course.
Lost balls
Green in excelent shape. Just not alot of real estate due to being a beach course. Overall fun and will be back

Challenging, but beautiful
Love playing this course when I go down to visit family in Gulf Shores. Course is beautiful, with great scenery, but the layout is challenging for anyone above a mid handicap. Better be able to hit em straight, or you're gonna have a long day, as most OB shots will have you reaching for a pocket ball. Pace of play was great this time compared to the previous round here. Shout out to the greens keeper for some of the nicest greens that you'll find to putt on. They have been immaculate both times I've played here. I would definitely recommend this course , and will play it again on my next trip.
Fun and challenging
A fun and challenging course to play! Greens in great condition, although could be much quicker. Fairways in great shape. Will definitely be our go to course everytime we visit.

Tight!!!
If you can't drive straight, it's gonna be a long day. It's just a tough course if you are unable to hit straight shots. Greens much slower than what we play back home but we're in great shape. I recommend the course.
Tough Course
Played today with my 17 year old son who has just been playing a short time. The greens were as good as I’ve seen anywhere. Not as fast as I am used to but rolled true. Fairways were great. Lost lots of balls off the tee due to narrow fairways and no forgiveness off the fairway. The gentleman in the pro shop was top notch and very helpful. We played in the afternoon so cart girl was nowhere to be found and the clubhouse was closed at the turn. Disappointing but lots of water coolers on the course. I will def come back once I work out my driver issues.
Nice course
This is a beautiful course. The greens were a little slower than expected. Some very tight holes.
Bring LOTS of balls
Front nine was enjoyable, overall condition good, about 90% of the greens are well kept. Back nine course condition was poor with a very gimicky layout. This is a course for low handicappers! Very narrow fairways with lots of problems if you don’t have course knowledge. First cut of rough swallows lots of balls. Balls that find the second cut and beyond, are lost forever. Nightmare results for novice golfers.
Excellent shape
This course was immaculate. Couldn’t be happier about the conditions and staff. Difficult course but worth the trip! Lots of wildlife on the course. GPS on carts is definitely your friend.
