Lost Key Golf Club

About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

5’-6’ away on 16 Par 3. Pretty close for a hole-n-one. Got the bird though! Great course. Photo submitted by stepgarr2 on 08/05/2021

Great shape
Greens were in great shape for January. Variety of holes which lets you use all the clubs in your bag. Course can be tight in places. Food was excellent.
Playing in the COLD!🥶
Great place to play challenging but Fair! Love the prices
Best greens I have played on in a long time, they rolled perfect.
Uninterested staff
I have enjoyed Lost Key many times when visiting the area. I was disappointed with the staff I encountered. The check in person was not welcoming and charged me for range balls (new policy?), the "starter" seemed like he didn't want to be bothered! They also used to bring your power cart up and load your clubs at the bag drop. Good help is hard to find! I did enjoy the course and the cart girl was friendly.
Challenging! But fun
Course was in super shape. Really tight and tough but super fun if you’re up for the challenge. Will be back for sure.
They have lots of hazards to deal with.
In addition to the natural hazards of the layout there are massive bunkers on almost every hole: all perfectly groomed and raked, at least when I was there.
Golf Review
Difficult but fair golf course. You need to be very accurate, green s were in great shape.
Great!
Best condition I've ever seen this course in. Greens were real smooth; not fast but perfect
Challenging Course
Challenging course. It you can't hit em straight, bring a few extra balls. In general a well maintained course with plenty of bunkers and large greens.
Lost Treasure
Enjoyed the staff, course, and adventures while playing. If you are in the fairway very enjoyable. If not difficult shots or lost ball. The condition If course was awesome. It's a course you will enjoy. Excellent bar and restaurant.
Lost key?
Lost Key? It’s more like lost money, lost my mind, and lost a zillion balls. The course is gorgeous and amazing if you’re playing it in the best melatonin sleep of a dream you’ve ever had. I hope you’re ready to buy 48 Nitros, or Noodles at your local Dick’s Sporting Goods on the way to the course. If you’re not Rory McIlroy off the tee combined with Scottie Scheffler’s ball striking and Tiger’s prime putting you won’t break 95. The ball lands soft on the green, and anywhere else shoots into the palm trees and thick stuff at nuclear speeds. Good news for you the course will be entirely empty if you play before 9 am because everyone else whose ever played said screw this and spend the best $45 they’ve ever spent at Marcus Pointe to have fun. Golf Now asked if I’d recommend to a friend. I would only check yes if Scottie Scheffler was my best bud. Best of luck! Shoot em straight!
PS - almost forgot we also paid $10 for 20 range balls
PPS - I’ll never play here again. Beautiful course though!
Vast Improvement
I played Lost Key a year ago, and they had mostly lost their fairways (hurricane related, I believe). The fairways have made a significant comeback, while there still a few rough spots, one can tell they are working on it. Greens are fantastic! I've played this course many times over the years and enjoy it, it's good to see it getting back in shape.
