About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

Awesome challenge
This course was alot of fun. I play from the tournament tees and this course was a challenge, but that's what made it fun. It is a pretty tight course so I can see where some people wouldn't like it but I get to play courses of this caliber once a year so a challenge is what I look for.
Great Layout but
Loved the layout and the greens are absolutely superb, however the rest of the course is very average. Splotchy fairways, furry tee boxes, and bunkers needed edging. Paid 65 bucks for an afternoon tee time and was disappointed. One of 9 courses I’ve played in the Gulf Shores/Pensacola area and it’s been the worst value. Priced well out of its quality. If you want to spend 100 plus for a morning tee time play a RTJ course or Kiva.

Unusual and inconsistent.
Greens were immaculate. Best I’ve ever seen. Not a blemish anywhere. Surrounds were a different story with many dead spots
Strange course overall with no idea what to do on many tee boxes.
And yes you will lose balls but the ones I lost were deservedly so but it is very tight.

Heat of the day
I went in the heat of the day. That was a mistake, but whatever to save $20. The course was in really good shape. I wish I was a better golfer, I would have enjoyed the course more.

Great greens, VERY tight
Greens were great shape, though firm. The rest of corse was in decent shape. Dead or bare spots in certain areas that are out of play did. It effect the playability, but were a visual negative. There were some trouble spots in the fairways, too.
The course is very narrow and unforgiving. Missing the fairway is often a lost ball in a hazard. It feels a little claustrophobic, like there wasn’t enough room for the course to be put here. The course is not overly long, so you can and should be hitting less than driver off of most tees.
Definitely a challenge due the narrow playing corridors and lots of hazards (oh sorry, “penalty areas”) in play.
Staff was great and so was pace (mostly due to lack of crowds).

OK golf course
I played here lots of time, but today some of the greens in the tee boxes and fairways have some brown spots. Maybe too much fertilizers in some spots and just right amount of fertilizers on the green parts .
If the golf course is going to be open for business, the bathroom should be presentable. The bathroom on the back 9 ladies bathroom needs to be clean, and also the sink was leaking. It needs to be fix...
The ladies bathroom in the Clubhouse needs to be clean as well and more paper towel to dry your hands should always be abundant. There was a paper towel dispenser that is not even working.
Those above toilet issues are very important during this Covid 19 crises.

Disappointing
Fairways are too narrow. Even the most accurate driver of the ball will have difficulty. Too great a distance difference between the white tees and golf tees, 5900ish vs 5200ish. Bunkers are very uneven, some areas way too much sand, way too deep and other areas very thin Fairway bunkers are a joke with very deep sand. Greens are fine and fairways are fine. Most off fairway areas need trimming or sprucing up for this to ber a class operation. Driving to this course is very difficult. No GPS will get you there 'cause I guess they changed the entry when they built more homes. Good luck finding it without having to call for directions.

Fun Trek
The course was in average to good shape. Greens had been punched/sanded recently so putting was a little abnormal. Worth the price and experience. I would suggest that the military discount be able to be applied when booking online. I booked for 2 players online and a third joined us after the fact. We are all retired military. The rate was $10 cheaper than online. Not a big deal but should be an option.

Play this course now!
The greens are as smooth as you could ask. A little slower than I expected but I don't recall my rolls bouncing once. Fairways are also in great condition; tee boxes need some new growth. The bunkers had been raked by the grounds crew and had plenty of sand in them. Very few people on the course and I breezed through in less than 2:30. I'm ready to go back again!

Great set up. Driving range, putting greens. Course in great shape. Dont let tight fairways scare you. Great greens to put on.

Nice, tricky course
Hit‘em straight, here you need it. Some holes are pretty narrow, no forgiveness when you are off fairway. Greens are in excellent shape. Was a challenging but fun round. Special treat - seeing the Blue Angels land in formation.

A little slow
This was the third time I played the course and really liked it other than it seemed the greens were not as fast as previous rounds. Pace of play was also rather slow (5 hours). Fortunately I paired up with an entertaining golfer from Loxley and we used the time solving most of the world's problems.
