Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

Cheap round but bad course conditions.
This was our first time at Marcus Pointe, and it was a rough course. The greens had dead and rough spots all over them. The fairways were noting special. Do yours favor and play a different course.
Hi, coyotecaller83. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Marcus Pointe Golf Club.
Course needs work
The greens on this course need some serious attention. Many of the have areas with no grass. I’ve golfed this course many times and the greens seem to be getting worse. The rest of this course is in good shape.
Hi, Westrong! Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Marcus Pointe Golf Club!
Disappointing
Greens are incredibly bouncy and slow. #1-9 greens are better, but #10-18 are poor with bare spots, multiple grasses on the green, and basically hit it hard enough to take the break out and hope for a good bounce on the roll. Several of the fairways on the back nine hadn't been cut in several days. Definitely not worth the $43 we payed on a Thursday morning. I had heard the course was improving, but it has a long way to go to Garner more than $25. I had planned to post photos of the greens, but after #10-12 (we started on the back side) I realized I would have spent the round taking disappointing pictures so I abandoned that plan.

Pretty disappointing
Course was in pretty bad condition. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens didn't have any grass. Last time I played this course was 6 years ago and it was in great shape, I don't know what happened.
Terrible conditions
Played M.P. on 3-25-22 as we do 2 to 4 times a month. Called day before for ttime and it was set up with ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION OF COURSE having aeration a couple of days before. Checked in once again (same person, Mary) failed to mention aeration and terrible greens with weeds/junk on ALL front 9 greens except 1. Charged us full price for this awful golfing experience. At best worth about 20/25 bucks. Well they just assured our 3/4 players won't be wasting money there anytime in future. DO NOT PLAY HERE UNLESS YOU LOVE TERRIBLE COURSES.
Fun Layout and Friendly Staff
This is a great location very close to Pensacola Airport. We didn't get started until late in the afternoon, so only made it through 14 holes before running out of daylight.
I enjoyed the layout. Lots of varieties of holes running through rolling wooded areas.
The conditions of the course were ok, it doesn't look like the greens get much love in the winter months. They were rolling very slow and a little bumpy. I'd definitely consider playing again maybe in spring when the grass is growing a bit better.
Clubhouse and restaurant staff were fantastic. Super friendly and helpful. I'd recommend the reuben if you are hungry!
Love the course...
We're snowbirds and when we golfed here earlier this year, the course needed some improvements. We were pleasantly surprised that the course was in great shape. We also got to golf with a great couple of young golfers in their twenties.
Pace of play
Course is decent but pace of play is terrible when members play in groups of 5. Shouldn’t allow any groups over 4 especially as slow as some of them play and won’t let you play through.
Worth Playing
First visit since April when the greens were horendous. Happy to see this course has returned to its normal condition. A few bare areas in the fairways that are expected from the regular players. The greens are in good condition although the pitch marks are a bit bothersome where the regular players aren't taking care of their own course. This isn't uncommon among neighborhood courses in the Panhandle. Happy to see this course has returned to a playable 18. Looking forward to returning again.
PACE OF PLAY
Played 12/12/21 and pace of play was TERRIBLE. Clocked the front nine in a staggering 2 and a half hours after voluntarily grouping up with another twosome. Made the turn after the front nine and overheard the staff frantically trying to locate carts as they had none available. Tee times were crammed together and 5somes and 6somes spotted. Gave up after nearly 4 and a half hours playing only 14 holes.
