Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

Marcus
Greens are in excellent shape and course condition is overall quite good. A couple fairways are thin, making for some tough lies.
Important info
Everything good. Would be nice to know when a course has closed the front or back nine for work or repairs. Playing the back nine twice was not ideal especially at full price. Probably would have played elsewhere if we had known.
Great Value
I played here the other day - it was very convenient, rented clubs, played as a single and they were great in getting me off quickly.
Course itself was fine - nothing really special or of note, but all in all it was an enjoyable round. Very little water on the course, a lot of room off of the tee.
I would play again, but not go out of my way for it.
Awesome Experience
We played Marcus Point 5 years ago and don't remember an experience like this. From the moment we walked into the pro shop the entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The course itself was very challenging and beautiful. The cart girl Shei was awesome as well. My daughter and I will most definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful 2 days of golf.
course needs maintenance
Greens on first nine were patches of just patches of poa
Fun time
While the course is not yet up to the level it used to be, management is doing a good job of getting it there. We enjoyed our round of golf
best course in Pensacola even in the winter.
I've played almost all coarses in Pensacola this winter and Marcus Point is probably in the best shape .
Losing Ground
Kinda disappointed in course condition
Very nice afternoon of golf with my wife
Looking forward to our next visit
Fair Average Course
Some holes are a challenge because they are well guarded by bunkers. If you can hit the greens with your irons, make them short because most holes a uphill and the downhill puts can be a bugger!
Better than most
Greens great shape. Fairways brown as expected for season and price. Pace of play great despite tournament at same time as my tee time. Practice range good with accurate putting green. Plenty of water and clean restrooms.
Greens unusually fast
The greens were unusually fast even for winter greens
Green Reading
Course was in somewhat good shape. Seen it a lot worse. Greens were extremely fast and fun. Great time even thou it did eat my lunch :)
Rhode Islanders were visiting
Nice track great value. We will be back.
hoppop
enjoyed the course very much. Anytime you can play a nice course in January it is a plus.
MP is Coming Back
We have played this course many times over the years on our trips to Florida. Going back 6-8 years, it was one of the best values in the Pensacola area. However, it had fallen into disrepair in the past couple of years and was in danger of closing. New management now has the course back on track. Always a nice layout, the fairways on this winter round were consistent, with no weeds or large bare spots and the greens were smooth, although running medium-slow. It is easy to see that continued attention by the staff will have the course in great shape in the spring and summer.
Anyone who has been avoiding MP as we had, due to past conditioning problems, should give it another try. We are glad we did and will be going back.
Very friendly
The Staff was very friendly and went the extra mile to make a first time player comfortable. I had a very good time playing this course.
Good course , well maintained
I always enjoy playing Marcus Pointe since Hiram Cook took over . Both Ben Bates and Ben Williams do an excellent job in managing and taking care of the course .
The course was fantastic
Played 18 holes with a friend & paired up with2 other gentlemen for a very lovely day of golf. The weather was great & the course was in the best condition I've seen it in the past 10 years.
Still need alot of work
Played this course before the change over for new management and they done a good job in trying to bring this course back but the course is still in real bad shape. Thought the greens were very slow and a lot of them has bare spots. A lot of fire ants are all over the course so you have to be very careful on were you walk. Might have to wait another year before I play this one again.
