Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

Great track!
What a pleasure to play Marcus Pointe. Course conditions for the this time of year are excellent. Pace of play was under 4 hours and the pro shop and kitchen staff were great. A must play in the Pensacola area.
Friendly staff/beautiful course
Marcus Point is our #1 favorite course to play. We use Golf Now and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Even though it is winter, the course is in amazing shape.
Beautiful layout
Marcus Pointe is certainly worth the time to play. Great mature layout in a residential area that does feel confined by the housing. Friendly staff got us out quickly with fantastic GPS equipped cart. Conditions were above par for this time of year...Tees, fairways and greens were in good shape and posed no issue with play. Will be back to the Pointe for sure.
Best Course For The Money
This is the best course we play while we are in the Pensacola area. We are always treated well & the pro shop is always accommodating. Will try to play this course in the near future.
Sweet course!
Entire course is in great shape. Greens are very fast but manageable. Fairways have been over seeded and are nice and green. Great food in the restaurant.
Great course!
Everything about Marcus point is great! The staff are so welcoming and pleasant. We use golf now and are treated so well by everyone at the course. We are snowbirds and spend January and February in Orange Beach Alabama. When there Marcus point is our groups favorite course. Highly recommend!
Holiday play
As expected holiday's can be very busy on a golf course, but the management should monitor the pace of play and make adjustments as needed. 5 and one half our's is a little long for playing 18 holes. The threesome in front of us played entirely to slow, for a 4 some behind them waiting on every shot. We were told they were long standing members and played every week. Just not ethical basically that we didn't offer equal value is how I understood the Marshall's comment. Our party plays Marcus pointe 36 rounds per year. Maybe we should rethink our number of rounds in the future.
Course in great shape. Very nice for December
Greens nice and smooth. Only bad spots were lazy golfers who didn’t fix there ball marks. Fairways were grassy and the right length where ball would sit up nicely.
Much Better Experience
My experience at Marcus Point was much better than my last outing. I arrived at the 1st tee to find 3 groups of 4 in front of us to start. After a brief conversation with the starter he suggested that we go off the back 9 first. At the time we were expecting it to rain within the next couple of hours so 9 holes was our goal in the first place. We actually played the back 9 in 90 minutes and when we made the turn we found a wide open front nine with no visible players for 3 holes. We were actually able to complete our round with no delays, rain or rude marshals. Good job Marcus Point.
Great value
The course and staff have made a never want to play again into my favorite course in greater Pensacola area to play golf.
Thank you for the kind review! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
First time playing
Great course for a group or solo, both challenging and attackable, and super friendly staff. The price for the quality of the course was less than I expected to pay by half. Great carts and great environment overall, highly recommend for those on vacation or local.
Great Course
First time at Marcus Pointe and I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course and the food and beverage offerings. Plenty of restrooms along the course as well.
Marshall needs a course on etiquette and course management.
In my 30 plus years of playing golf in this area I have never felt as harassed as I felt yesterday at Marcus Point by the marshal. I don't know how long he has been employed in this position but he is clearly ill suited. Our group was approached by him on the 3rd green and told that we needed to speed up. He watched us wait for the group to clear the green as we sat in the fairway yet he cautioned us after 2 of the 4 members in our group hit the green in regulation. He actually followed us for most of the front 9 but failed to even approach the group in front particularly after they appeared to be holding a conversation and the flag which lasted about 3-4 minutes after the last guy picked up his ball on the par 3 # 7. When asked what the deal was he replied "I know those guys ". The rest of the staff were great particularly the starter who is always pleasant.
good to be back here
1st time playing here in 4 years. The course is better than I remember
Great course conditions
Marcus is always nice but coming into this winter they are staying on top of their game with maintenance! Would recommend to anyone!
Great Place to Play
The course is in very good shape. I would say the course is in excellent shape compared to a year ago. We played on a Sunday and the pin placements were difficult. It is a very challenging course. The greens are fast but fair as long as you keep it on the proper side of the hole. If you have a downhill putt be careful. The entire staff is friendly, and they make you fell welcomed! Keep up the good work...
Thank you kind review! We're glad you enjoyed the round and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
