Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

Great course
Challenging course. Freshly punched greens when we played but everything else was in great condition.
Great Course and Friendly Staff
Played this one on vacation and truly enjoyed it. We hit it the day after they aerated so there were a few dirt pebbles here and there and some sand on the greens. Made things a but challenging but it also showed they take care of the course - just bad timing on our part! Four challenging holes on the front nine that will make you bring your best game. Given the temps in the 90’s and the humidity it was in great shape. On the first tee we were greeted with a cold towel and ice for the onboard cooler. Drink cart was by frequently. Great course and great value - nothing bad to say!
Wonderful shape from start to finish. Greens were the best in Pensacola area !
Best track I played in Pensacola of three
I played Lost Key, Marcus Pointe and Cypress Lakes. This was my favorite course of the 3 even though I would say Lost Key was "nicer" I just really liked the fairness of this course. I played to my handicap and the hospitality was excellent. The starter checked on me multiple times and one point he came out and offered me a drink and I think he had little food items for golfers on a hot day. It's so rare to get that kind of hospitality in a touristy city but they were top notch and ended up being my favorite course on my trip. Shout out to David! He was a great guy.
Greens were in great shape, maybe 1 or 2 spots but they rolled true and great. The fairways were in decent shape, rough had some rough patches, but overall a well mainted course for the price. More of a wooded track so don't expect a bunch of palm trees or ocean views, but a fair course with some fun holes.
Marcus!
They continue to provide those wonderful ice-water towels...so nice in this 100+ heat index weather!
Course was in great shape and drained well after the massive downpour on the 4th hole. The geofence on the carts was my only issue. They switched to path only which was fine but the sensitivity was outta control. It beeped and shut the cart off multiple times while I was literally on the path. Otherwise it was a great round.
Greens are Great!
The putting greens are in very good shape and fast…Always a fun time at Marcus Point!
Ice-water towels!!
A first for this area...a "player's assistant" in a cart came around offering towels dipped in ice water!!! I wish all the area courses offered such a wonderful benefit in the summer. Keep it up Marcus!!
Great Value
Course was in very good shape. Greens rolled true. Only complaint was a few bare spots in fairways. Staff was very friendly and fun loving. One of the better courses for the money in the area.
Fun course
Best course in Pensacola and a fun track to play. Greens are perfect and fair ways have plenty grass.
Excellent Value
Greens were outstanding. Fairways were fairly good with a few thin spots at times but overall very good. Course is well maintained. BLT for lunch was excellent. Definitely the best value for the experience around.
Saturday play
The pace of play for early T time was slow 5 hours to get in eighteen. The foursome in front played way to many mulligans, not the day for that. The Marshalls should have stopped them or held them up to let other players through.
Great Course
Only downside to a popular course is it being too busy. First 9 was really slow, back 9 was a bit better. Really fun layout that added a challenge but didn't make it impossible. The condition was excellent was well.
Good Course with Great Value and service
I had played this course 30 years ago and it was really nice then. I had considered it on previous trips but the reviews showed it was in disrepair. I then saw a trend up with new management and decided to give it a try. The staff was extremely friendly. The lunch in the bar area was great and the service was too. The course was in really good shape and the pace of play was excellent. We played in 3 hours. I would definitely recommend adding this course and a cheeseburger in the bar the next time you consider somewhere to play.
As always, great experience
Great time out there. It was a steady 97-98 degrees when we went. They had attendant driving around handing out ice cold rags to cool off with. Cant say I’ve ever seen that before and it was a game changer. Around 4.5 hours for a 4 some.
