Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Golfer Reviews
Great fun course
Played here a few times. Very challenging but a very fun course.
DO NOT book the 6;30 A.M tee time because they aren’t actually open until 7.
Greens were redone a few months back and it shows. they are some of the nicest I have played.
The cart guy in the early morning is super friendly
Would recommend to anyone that isn’t brand new at golf because it has a lot tough spots
Absolute disappointment
I’ve played for over 30 years and never in my life have I experienced a more disorganized course. We booked for 3 pm. 3 mins before our tee time a single jumped ahead of us. The a couple who booked at 2:40 showed up late and started next. We were about to play and another pair showed up at the same tee time and insisted they were fast and wanted to play ahead of us. So there we were, about to tee off and suddenly there were 5 people ahead of us. We were so frustrated we just left. They need a starter to create structure and proper etiquette!!
Will play again
Staff were all very friendly, no extra charge to hit on the practice tees to warm up.
Course is laid out in a loop (so if you play 9, you’ll be at max distance from the clubhouse when you finish).
Pace of play was VERY slow, not a reflection on the course, but carts are equipped with gps , so it would seem easy enough to have a ranger move things along. The group ahead of me left after 16 when they got tired of waiting.
Otherwise, course was fun, in good cindition with plenty of challenges from the blues for a mid-handicap golfer.
Private Club Feel
Crystal Lake has the feeling and look of a private club that also happens to have public tee-times. The clubhouse was very nice, clean and well-appointed. There was a full locker room, not just a bathroom. The pro shop was very well-stocked and their personalized gear looked good. The restaurant was also very nice.
The course itself was also excellent. Challenging enough but not punishing. Everything was well-kept and the greens were excellent. The course covers a lot of ground and winds its way through a community. So, if you're a big-time hacker with a wicked slice, you'll need to be very careful off the tee on many holes that are lined very closely with houses.
Especially for the price, this is about the best deal I've seen in the Atlanta area.
Had a great experience in pro shop. Had issues with the restaurant. I ordered sandwiches for me and my son 30 minutes before my teetime. I was told they would be ready in ten minutes. I came back twenty five minutes later and my order that I already paid for was not even started in the kitchen. They did bring our food to us on the first hole, but I was still disappointed with the breakdown.
The course was in great condition. The greens were fast but fair. The pace of play was horrific. We waited on every hole from 7 to 18.
I love this course and have never had to wait like this. Not sure why play was so slow, but it made the round less enjoyable,
Pace of play
For a Saturday noon tee time, the pace was outstanding. 2 hours 9 holes. Greens were fast and a little bumpy.
It has been over a year since I played here. Course is in great shape and it was obvious that more
Work has been put into course maintenance
Great holes
Enjoyed the 13 holes we played before having to leave for flight - need to supply towels for showers though.
Were you behind people, like families, that seemed like they were practicing? I ran into a couple of groups like that, families and a group of teens. I assume they are members that live in the community. Luckily, they were all very accommodating and let me right through, though I was only a single.
