Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Didn’t Know What to Exoect

It played okay pretty well the greens were recovering from being worked on so it was okay fairly decent can't complain

Conditions have slipped
I played Crystal Lake several years ago when it was one of the finest southside courses. We were excited to return, but somewhat disappointed in the deteriorated conditions. The range looked awful. Bunkers hard packed and devoid of sand. Little fairway grass. Tee boxes sporty. Greens patchy with sand from a recent punching. This is still a *stellar* layout, but not what it once was.
Still, all this could be somewhat excused If they’ve had a couple down years. But the lack of simple signage from hole to hole is inexcusable. It’s often a few hundred yards from one hole to the next, and we were completely lost more than once driving 1/8 mile only to arrive at a hole we’d already played, doubling back, and back again, unsure of where to go. Please guys, get a teenager with some 2x2s, a can of paint, and a few squares of plywood or something. The sequence of holes is COMPLETELY confusing.
It wouldn’t take much to make this a great course once again. Unfortunately, it’s just not right now.

Winter golf, cold and windy
Club house guy and starter top notch. Golf course is okay for winter play I guess. Greens fast and rolled well. Tee boxes were good for winter play, but fairways are beaten down from all the carts driving from tee to green. Sand traps need some attention to be playable.
I’m sure once the grass starts growing again the fairways will be fine, but not a fan of the course.

Great course for the price!
The course was a little wet from the days previous rain, but outside of managing the wet spots with the cart. The course was amazing. The greens were true, the bunkers we white and sandy! Definitely would return for more and more rounds.

Terrible experience
Round was delayed an hour. Cart died on the 11th hole and we could not reach the course for help.

Interesting layout
Today’s round was plagued by high winds. Nonetheless, inconsistent greens often left me scratching my head. I will continue to come back in hopes to catch the course in its best of conditions with ideal weather. Timing was not good this go round.
