Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Golfer Reviews
Getting worse
This course has a great layout, but the greens and fairways are in poor condition. Looks like they are diseased. Pace of play was slow and group behind us hit into us until we turned and told them to cut it out.
Great course
The course is in great condition. They are rolling good, but I wish golfers will repair their ball marks.
Will play again!
Great course, great conditions, friendly staff, and a very good price. I will return for sure!!
Truly enjoyable course
Fun course layout that lets you play it several ways, bomb it or lay-up. The rough is just long enough that you'll have to pay attention when your ball gets off the fairway, lost a few balls that I thought were good tee shots.
Some things I've noticed after playing a few rounds here.
-Lots of ball divots in the greens not repaired or repaired incorrectly.
-Sand traps not raked by players after hitting out of them, including the footprints. I suspect its the same guys not repairing the balls marks.
-Driving range could use a refresh of balls, many were in bad shape.
C'mon everyone, be respectful of the course and other players. Take care of your course.
Nice pro shop with a friendly staff, looking forward to playing Crystal Lake again soon.
I like it a-lot!
Tested all skills, shot shaping and having to think and plan on the tee box rather than letting it rip with a driver every time. Green were fast without being table to hard. Course is fairly close to the interstate which is something I've learned not to take for grant it.
Crystal Lake
Course was in good condition although a few greens were rough. Price was reasonable. It took 5 hours to complete 18 holes. I don't know what the groups ahead of us were doing but their pace of play was obviously atrocious. A Marshall was needed to track pace of play and speed up slow groups. 4 hours is a moderate time to play a round but I strive for less.
No cart service on the course all day which is horrible for a course that does not return to the clubhouse at the turn.
Outstanding layout and facility!
Great time had by me and my regular golf partners. Two of our players played blue tees, one the white, and the other, green. This made for a competitive round for a well earned two dollars (I lost)!
We'll be back, and I hope to take the 6 bucks next time!
Nice Layout !
Best value for South Atlanta metro! Tee to green the layout will accommodate low or high handicap golfers. Greens were recently aerated, but that's a good thing !
A Sunday at Crystal Lake
For the price and course condition a great value. No complaints.
Greens r Horrible!!!! Course not being cared for!
Greens r in unreal terrible shape considering this use to be the best course in Henry Co!! The rough had lots of thatch in it (hasnt rained much in 3 weeks) Just appeared as they arent really taking care of the place much! Sad to see! Totally not worth above $30, less than then maybe its ok but better options else where for $35 to $45 rounds.
Needs a new General Manager
I love a difficult, challenging golf course. The length and setup of the course is about all that was enjoyable. Here's what was disappointing....
1. Greens were not only totally reached out and dead, but even has crabgrass patches on many of the greens. $45 for crabgrass??? Boooo
2. On a 95 degree day in summer, there was only 1 water cooler on the course, about hole 10,11. There is also no spot to get ice waters before your round. The restaurant isn't even open until lunch time so it was very difficult to get someone to get us something to drink. It blows my mind how a bucket of ice and a cooler are not offered at the clubhouse for hydration.
3. The map on the scorecard is way too small and does not give any idea as to the blind hazards. Lucky for us it was slow on the course (wonder why) so we could drive up the the fairways and examine before teeing off. This wouldn't be possible if it was booked up. Still managed a 71 from the blacks :)
In summary, this place is a potential championship level course but needs a lot of help and some people who care in charge. Unlikely to return
Greens terrible
Greens were in terrible shape . Diseased and overgrown. Fairways hadn't been cut as well . Unusual for this course .
Great condition
I played with a group from Ga. National Golf and we had a really great experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Club House was beautiful and service could have been better with more wait staff but the course was in great shape and even when you don't go back by the clubhouse after 9 the cart person made it a great experience and I would recommend a person join. The membership was very well put together and inexpensive.
Go Cyrstal Lake and I am glad that you purchased Ga. National and can't wait to see the upgrades.
Nice Course But
Crystal Lake is a very nice course layout but the course condition was not near what we expected . We found this course available for $28 on Golfnow as a hot deal. Regular rate is $51-58.
We were expecting to see after all the rains the fairways to be green and thick The fairways were thin, very thin. Ball didn't set up. Yes we hit a majority of our fairways (15/18). The greens were fine.
It will only be via another hot deal that we'll play this course. As is the course is not a $55 course.
WASTE OF MONEY
This used to be a great friendly course for all handicaps, but in last couple years it has went down. The players that play here have no golf ethic. I'm a member at Ga National and the rumor is that we have been bought out by the owner of Crystal Lake. That's very sad because he obviously doesn't care about the course.
I ran into the same issue today here. A group of 3 played in front of me for 7 straight holes before i found a place i could play 12 and then 11 and beat them to 13. What can be done about this in your opinion?I know it was obvious to the group in front of me that I was far better than them. I was always making it obvious i was waiting on them. If players are the same pace as me and my group ill offer for them to go infront of me. What can the course do to fix this?
