Getting better
I've played here once a week for the past five weeks. The course is a little rough but I've seen them working on it each time I've played. Green's are smooth and consistent, if a little on the slower side. Pace of play is slow because alot of the players here are older. Price is good. A good value. If you're used to playing country club conditions, you probably won't be happy here. However, if you are looking for a place to play that's not too penal and not too pricey, you are going to like the course.
So/so
We teed off a half hour late and waited on every hole. Sometimes 2 groups waiting on a tee box.
Very little grass to hit off of on the fairways but a great course layout.
Drove an hour to get there. will not go back.
Needs a lot of improvement
We had a bad start, as the coarse was badly overbooked. Our tee time was 11:00 and felt fortunate to actually tee off at 11:55. The greens were okay, but the fairways ranged from okay to fair at best.

What the course was like - Terrible
I cannot say that any funds have been put into the golf course. The staff were friendly , the restaurant was awesome, but, we failed to find a fairway, as it was all patches of hard soil. no grass ... They want your money, but don't invest it back into the course. How shameful .

Rough conditions
Course in rough shape. Grass is thin on entire course. Pace of play very slow . 2 and 1/2 hours to play front nine. Quit after 9.

Over 4 1/2 hours to play 13 holes! Ridiculous!
They need a ranger to get the people moving or get off the course!

Golf Day
First time out to play at Port Charlotte Golf Club. Really enjoyed it a lot. The course wasn’t overly demanding and I liked the wider fairways. Glad there were a few Par 5 holes. Staff were terrific.
Will come again. Lots of fun.

Very poor fairway and putting green turf quality.
Threatened to take flags out at 530p and expected carts to in by that time, 45 minutes before dark. No indication of the time limit when we booked.

Great Course for the Money
Great course for the cost, many improvements underway to enhance the experience.
A diamond in the rough and great value in season
The current ownership is working hard to improve the course conditions, and with some more time this should rate a 4+. A good lay out and very friendly golf staff all make this a great value in season.

Flat and boring
Not much good to say. Fairways inconsistent but better then greens. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cheaper then other courses in area but you get what you pay for.
