Very Well Kept Course
Kings Gate is a very well maintained course. All greens, tee boxes, and fairways were well maintained. Challenging Executive course.
Course condition
Greens are in Great condition. Tees are good. Excellent play.
Nice course
From back tees course is 3200 yds. Lots of water. Greens are undulating and fast. Must get the ball in the right spot relative to pin placement or 3 putts likely. Course was in good shape tee to green. Rough not long. Pace of play was slow. Played in 4 1/4 hours but would expect to play an executive course like this in 3. Facilities were nice as were carts.
2 different 9 hole courses
It appears that the back nine was developed later than the front by different architects.
The front nine was apparently designed by someone that was trying to put golf holes in a housing development.
The back nine by someone that understands the game of golf.
The front nine has many holes with houses perhaps 50 feet or less from the edge of the fairway with a paved cart path between the fairway and houses. The close proximity of house to fairway and or green detracts from the enjoyment of the game.
If I were to play this course again, I would first ask if it would be possible to play the back nine twice instead of the front and back.
As a side note, there is water either on one or both sides or as a carry on most of the holes. The water carry is not really a detractor, but when water is coupled with houses tight on the opposite side, it makes the target line very narrow and unforgiving.
The course was in very good condition. The fairways were in very good shape. The best grass I have seen this year in Florida. The greens were very fast and challenging. We will return.

Nice course to work on your mid and short irons - challenging but not punishing, Greens and fairways are in great condition
