Summerfield Crossings Golf Club
About
Summerfield Crossings Golf Club is a fun Scottish links style championship golf course designed by Ronald Garl. There are many moguls and palm trees that come into play throughout the course. Summerfield Crossings Golf Club has wide, gently rolling fairways, but do not underestimate the challenge. You must keep the ball on target thanks to pot bunkers, waste areas and small, undulating greens. The signature hole is No. 6, a 171-yard, par 3 that calls for a carry over water to a small peninsula green. Summerfield Crossings Golf Club has a wide, gently rolling fairways.

Good course, good value
Great course conditions great pace of play in the afternoon. Lacking water on the course. Cartgirl came around quite often though. Would recommend this course and I will definitely be back to play
Bitter Sweet
Nice Course. I played here last year, and for some reason, it was a little more difficult this time around. The course was in good shape; I just had trouble navigating it with the new Ai Calaway clubs. I'm coming back for some revenge!
Slowwwwwwww
This is a 4 hour course
They were behind on the front right away so they starter sent us off them cal and we playing led in less than two hours
Finished in the front and tye pace went from 12 minutes a hole to over 20
2.5 hours later we finished
Not sure they marshal the course effectively
Challenging course
This course has a significant amount of water, sand and other hazards, making it a challenge for most golfers. Carts have built-in GPS which is really helpful for determining yardage to front, center and back of green. Food and beverages are available at the clubhouse and while you’re out on the course.
Solid option for Tampa
A few months ago I rated this course poorly due to bad experiences regarding pace of play. I wanted to revise my review and be more fair to the course after a few of my recent rounds here. The course is a very solid option for Tampa residents willing to make the 30min drive over for the day. They have increased their ranger presence and improved the pace of play drastically. They are no longer pushing out tee times 15minutes before their start time and clogging up the course (At least on the weekdays). The conditions are consistently good and the course is fun and challenging. Greens roll true, tee boxes are well maintained, and fairways are in good shape. Overall, Summerfield is one of my top 3 favorite courses to play in the Tampa area! If they continue to improve their issues regarding pace of play and commit to ensuring groups are completing their round at the time of play it has the potential to receive 5 stars because of fair pricing and consistent conditions.
Yesterdays round
Greens have been punched recently so putts diverting from where you aim them will happen. Fairway on #13 is still in crummy shape. But still an enjoyable place to play.
Recent round
Greens are in great condition and the only fairway I would complain about is #13( been that way for a while ).
Morale challenges
Registered as a single on a Sunday.
Only the golfers were glad to be there. There were no welcoming greetings for me from anyone - pro shop desk, cart staff, or the starter.
Arrived to discover, from the starter, that my tee time was changed from 2:22 BACK to 2:07. All my docs stated 2:22 pm. Luckily, I was on time/early - 1:52. But that rushed my set up. I managed to start at 2:08 and the other 3 golfers in the group were nowhere in sight.
Sure, a course has a right to move golfers around BUT backward movement is problematic from ANY perspective.
The actual golf course was nice. Other golfers were okay. It was a decent day of golf. I was able to easily keep up with the 3/2 golfers in front of me.
Solid course all around
The course is challenging, but fair. The greens rolled fast. Great value for the price. Friendly staff, would recommend.
Well there was golf
Arrived early, 1:42, to discover that my 2:22 tee time had been moved to 2:07.
Pro shop staff didn't mention it but starter/golf cart crew did. So far not a single cordial greeting is made in my direction. Now I am rushed to get set up. I get to hole 1 at 2:04 and the 2 pm group of 3 is still there. At 2:07 I am the only golfer present, the other 3 are late. At 2:08 I start alone bc I don't want to be blamed for an entire course delay. That's great bc locals don't seem to like to add 1 to their group & esp. not a woman golfer. At the first 3 par, I see the late 2:07 golfers. Whatever. Course was okay, visually interesting, with good golf carts.
Snak cart worker was less than thrilled, drove thru while I was swinging, served dirty ice, only friendly once when I flagged her down for service.Yes, I tipped too.
So, no one on staff cared that I was there, didn't need me to return, and it doesn't matter to them if I comment on the low staff morale.
Golfnow Pricing
Golfnow changed their price from $40 to $50 Feb 1 and haven't reduced them. Call the course and don't book on Golfnow as you will receive alot better price and better tee time
