Excellent choice for myself for a round on Father's Day. Course is in great shape and the greens are beautiful as always.
Coweta
Seeing a great offer for a midweek round, my son and I took the trip from the city to check the club out. Upon my arrival at 8:15, I was not sure I was in the right place as there was only one car in the lot. Greeted by a very pleasant goundskeeper in the lot, he assured me I was and offered to drive me to the clubhouse. We were the firs off for the day and had the course to ourselves. It is a gorgeous track, set in a development of very fine homes, although they are tastefully set back off the course. The overall conditions were great, save the greens which were quite slow as they are still healing from an aeration a while back, so lots of sand still there. This is a course that really demands local knowledge and plays pretty tough for a first round, as there are a number of somewhat blind tee shots.
Overall, great topography, pleasant staff and a good test of golf on a well manicured course. Worth another visit.
Course needs a lot of improvements
Played this course in June 2014 and decided to return June 2015 since I enjoyed my round last year.
However, course conditions have gotten worse. Looks like management is reluctant to invest in upgrades. Cart path has many potholes and fairway is degraded in several areas.
I am unlikely to return.
wow
Even with recently aerated greens this was one of the nicest tracks that I've played. The whole staff was great as well as all of the other course conditions. The deer were greeting us on 2 different holes. Would definitely go back!
The course was excellent.
Coweta Club Golf Course is in excellent condition, the grees are excellent and roll true.
I enjoyed myself tremendously.
Must Play
Have been to the area 2 years in a row. First round at Coweta. Very enjoyable and challenging. Will be back every year. Staff, clubhouse and course all awesome! Not crowded and well worth every penny.
Coachman
The greens were sanded which made them real slow. Also had a single 90 year old player in which we were told he plays twice a week and will not let you play through, so be patient or skip a hole. Glad we never caught him because invading no intentions on being patient or skipping a the hole. This course is always challenging especially to out of towners
Very intimidating first hole.
very hilly course. smooth greens. traps in good condition. some uphill shots very tough. fun to play.
The greens
got a great deal from gold now for $15 but choose the time you play as I teed off at 8.30 am and greens weren't cut till I got too the 9th-10th hole. That aside course/greens were in great shape for the time of year.
Great course
The pro shop was out of logo balls and logo sleeves. The pro was not friendly.
This quality course deserves a more fitting and professional pro taking care of the guests.
There was no water to start the round or a drink cart seen over 18 holes.
The course maintenance guy was awesome. He was pleasant , cordial and humble.
Good, but not great
I had heard very good things about this course so I chanced the long drive. The course was good but not great and not worth the hour trip.
Greens were on the slow side and not as true as I expected.
The layout is okay, but extremely hilly. Hard to find a flat lie, even in the fairway.
Coweta is Great.
Course is in very good condition. I would play it again in a minute. One of he best maintained course on the south side of ATL.
Great Round of Golf
Course was in great shape. Really required all shot shapes. Like the way the course is designed and the way it flows.
Enjoyed
Challenging course
Course in great shape. Have to know how to work your golf ball to play this course effectively
The tee group
allowing 5 players to play together 2 groups ahead of us slowed things up for the twosome in front of us and our threesome. Twosome behind of us constantly had to also wait, we didn't finish until nearly 5 hours after tee off. Unacceptable course managing. What was the marshal doing, he was on duty??? Course is too difficult for the average golfer and 5 average golfers playing is unacceptable.
MondayMorningWeekendHacker
Got a great deal to play a course that was out of my rotation due to pricing. Monday is a great day to play because of less course traffic. Really enjoyed playing without holding anyone up or anyone breathing down our throats. Course has changed since last playing it and the changes were a pleasant surprise. The only two negatives (and they are minor) we had was 1) the grille was not open early for coffee or breakfast sandwich/biscuit. 2) the tee boxes need attention. But the overall experience was great and if they can keep the price in the ball park of which we paid they will see more of me and the club I belong to.
Great challenge
I always enjoy playing Coweta Club for the challenge it presents. This is not an easy course you can coast through. Lots of uneven lies, tight fairways and undulating greens. Still, there are scoring opportunities if you take advantage of them.
Rainy day
All in all I enjoyed the course. Unfortunately, it came a down pour so I only played 9 holes. The course didn't close with dangerous conditions around. In turn I wasn't able for a refund. I was also promised a code to receive to compensate for the missing holes bit I have not received it. I do look forward trying the course again.
Ranking well earned
The course is clearly one of the best challenges in town. It is a great layout with small, smooth bent grass greens.
Well over rated at 4.2
Poor conditions. Examples, poor sand traps, as much dirt as sand. The greens had just been aerated and sanded The tee boxes had mushrooms growing on them and the markers were off to the side of the boxes. Our cart did not make it through the round and the concrete cart paths was broken up in many areas. We were expecting a 4.2 rated golf course. Unfortunately this course did not deliver.
