Durham Lakes Country Club
About
Durham Lakes Country Club is conveniently situated just south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, making it accessible from both Midtown and Downtown Atlanta as well as from the Metro's surrounding counties. The golf course wanders through mature forests filled with hardwoods and Southern pines, laced with meandering streams. Wetlands and sparkling lakes dot the scenic landscape as well. At 7,100 yards from the back tees, the golf course offers plenty of length. The challenging layout features narrow, tree-lined fairways and subtly undulating greens. The many natural hazards are complemented by strategically placed bunkers that follow the contours of the terrain. No two holes are alike on this diverse layout. It will test your creative shot making skills and your ability to think strategically. Durham Lakes Country Club is a fair test but it's not overly difficult for the high handicapper.

Course needs attention
Greens have fungus and course (fairway, rough, etc.) has poor drainage. Foilage is a bit overgrown.
Course has issues.
The greens are problem not uncommon due to weather. However the fairways, rough, and bunkers have not been well attended to. Long grass in rough and beside greens. Bare fairways in spots. Tee boxes not well maintained along with bunkers. This used to be a good course not sure what is going on with management now.
So-so
The online tee-time was right behind private tournament play, and we caught the tournament at hole 5 the pace was excruciatingly slow!!! On #10 a rain-storm hit thankfully, and we quit at 2-1/2 hrs. play for 9 holes. At the clubhouse we caught some grief requesting a rain-check like "you can go back out it's gonna' stop soon", no thanks no 6 hr. rounds please !! :-0
The greens are in very poor condition.
I paid $4.00 for range balls & when I got to the machine I put my token in the machine & got 10 balls. The machine was in such disrepair the door was falling off. The greens are in horrible condition. The fairways have a better putting surface then all the greens. I would not recommend this course to anyone! I wish I could get my money back for a waisted day of miserable golf. I did shoot an 82. The worst score posted by me this year!
My group all thought this course was difficult.
A few of the greens were not great, but all in all this course is tough and a real fun challenge for good golfers.
Course features
The greens are in need of repair. The fairways need to be cut. I hate losing a ball in the middle of the fairway. Course has some challenging holes that require you to manage you game. There are also a few where there is the chance to go for the green and take your chance for eagle or end up with double bogey if you miss.
This course is not what it once was.
This course is not what it once was, which is sad because it used to be worth the drive. It has been about 3 years since I have played this course last & it appears it has gone down hill (Probably related to membership declines from the neighborhood.) The greens & sand traps need serious attention. There are splotches all over the greens & I don't think many of the sand traps have been maintained in over a year. Many cases you are hitting directly off the dirt bottoms. No hole markers. No course layout on the scorecard. Beer cans scattered all through the woods. No complimentary range balls anymore. No fairway yardage markers to be found anywhere on the course. The course as A whole is pretty overgrown.
Course needs a lot of attention
Was excited about playing here because when I played a year ago I remember the awesome layout but greens were not good. Well, fast forward a year later and the conditions were just the same.. Greens very sandy and bumpy.. I was very disappointed.. Golfnow should reflect the exact conditions of courses because I would not have wasted my money.
the course was good for a first timer/beginner
too start great guest service and friendly service, course was fun and peaceful.
I'll be back if the price stays the same
Great layout! I always love a course where every hole is its own dedicated hole. If you spray the drive you'll be penalized every hole. The greens were in rough shape. They rolled real nice but there were some mossy, diseased areas on the greens. With a little TLC this could be a Top 50 in Georgia.
Needs a little TLC but some really fun holes and some real tough ones.
I bought a hot deal so I got a great price. They have a dollar a hole replay which I took advantage of. The course has some very dense forest around and some of the fairways slope into it. If you are wild off the tee, it might be a long day. Tee boxes and fairways were fine. The greens were either in trouble or recovering. The bunkers were inconsistent with some showing the liner. The fairways were fast and if you caught a downhill slope big yardage was available.
Greens Burned Out
The greens are not in very good condition. Already burned out and will likely get worse as the summer rolls on. Otherwise, the fairways and rough were in good condition and the staff was pleasant. Will warn that the cart girl doesn't get out until around 10:30, so if you play early, you'll want to bring your own Gatorade and/or snacks.
Little bit of maintenance goes a long way
Very nice layout with nice holes. Geese were a problem too much " goose dropping" on the greens near the water holes. One clean sweep in the mornings would be great. Also yardage markers were not easy to find if I found them at all.
Have fun on the front 9, get ready to play on the back 9.
The course is challenging but fair, if you hit the fairways you can have a good round but be careful on the back. There is a lake that comes into play on four holes in a row.
Tough layout
I find this course difficult to play. It is always in good condition but some of the layouts are goofy. Weird hazard locations. I recommend it for playing if you don't mind a difficult challenge for the casual hacker.
Fun course.
All fairways had just been cut, was in good shape. Played week previously and had a lot of weeds, now gone (pulled?). Bunkers lack sand with lining cloth visible. Greens good but looks like fungus is starting to set in. Course needs some more money in maintenance, what a shame as it is a very good layout.
Wet Golf
I made reservations to Durham Lakes Golf Club a few days in advance. The night before we played it had rained about an inch or more. The course drains well in most areas and is very well maintained. Got the round in, very soft greens "imagine that" . Anything near/on the green would hold, putts rolled surprisingly well. I have also played here when it was dry... Very good course, friendly staff, and a great value!
Tough course, hole 14 very difficult
Course was in great shape, hardly anyone there during the 8:00 tee time. We played a foursome and only saw one single player the entire Sat morning.
Great course on the South side to play. It is hilly and challenging on the 1st 9 and a lot of water on the back 9.
Enjoyed playing here. The pace was steady. The course was in good shape although I did not see anyone working on it the day I was there.
The fairways were solid and my ball got a good bounce on them. A lot of tall grass on the sides and easy to loose a few balls if you miss the fairway. Greens played solid also.
I will play there again.
Poorly Managed
We booked a tee time for 8:00AM and the office didn't open until after 8:00. We sat around for 25 minutes waiting. No range available, the greens were not prepped, the bunkers not maintained and the fairways were weak. It's a nice track and I used to enjoy playing here - it's a shame how poor management can turn a good course to bad.
