Wolf Creek Golf Course
About
Since 2001 Wolf Creek has earned a reputation as one of the toughest golf tracks in the Atlanta Metro area. Wolf Creek boasts a 7028 yard par 72 championship layout with bent grass greens which is just one of the reasons Golf Digest selected Wolf Creek as the best course near Hartsfield Jackson Airport. The Mike Young Designs course incorporates both low flatlands holes, bordering many wetland areas, and holes with dramatic elevation changes. Wolf Creek has four sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. A practice range and practice green allow for serious work on your golf game or just a warm-up before your round.

Beautiful well kept course
Played this course twice and I highly recommend for any golfers in the ATL area. The course is in great condition currently and the two recently redone holes at #9 and #18 are awesome. Probably my favorite course in atlanta for the price.
Good conditions but lack of hydration and marshalling
The course is in really good shape and much improved over the past several years. You can tell a serious investment has been made.
The course distance is shorter than most so playing from tees further back is recommended for the intermediate and advanced golfers.
Unfortunately due to recent rain, this round was designated as "cart path only" for the entire course. It was appropriate as the course was wet throughout. We followed these rules but many others did not which caused a fairly heavy backup. On one back 9 par 3 we were the 3rd group to arrive at the tee box. It also didn't help that two foursomes merged together toward the very end to play together which absolutely slowed things down. As a result, we were part of three groups waiting to tee off.
This was my second time playing the course and I did see a Marshall one time this round but he didn't appear to talk to anyone about keeping up with the pace of play.
The biggest frustration without a doubt is that there is no water on the course. It was actually a dangerous situation given how hot outside it was. One of my playing partners became nauseous and had to sit out two holes until feeling better.
The course did have one drink cart out on the course but when I saw the person she was parked in the shade between holes 3 and 4 and not moving. She finally reached us around hole 15.
On days like this, the course should warn that the drink cart will not be moving about and to get hydration beforehand or allow people to bring coolers of their own with non-alcohol drinks.
Finally, the fact that the course doesn't sell alcohol is frustrating. Some of my friends will not play this course as a result. Having a cold beer and bonding with friends is part of what makes the round and experience enjoyable. It would also likely motivate the drink cart to move around for sales. I've spoken to the drink cart person on both rounds I've played in the past month and she admitted as much and simply said the owner won't budge on his mindset.
I likely will not come back during the hot days until something changes with the beverage situation.
Best conditions I’ve seen at Wolf creek
I brought a friend that has never played the course before with me and we both were very impressed by the condition of the course all across the board. Tee boxes were good, fairways were very good, green were fair and rolled true. The course is very challenging but at the same time you can’t help but enjoy being out there with how pretty the course is. I will say i wish there was more instruction with the changes that were made it can be a little confusing if you don’t know where you’re going. I’ll be back for sure.
Course is changing for the better
The new owners have done a fantastic job. The newly redesigned 9 and 18 are well thought out and so much more fair than before (especially for 18).
The fairways were lush, the bunkers were good, the greens were great. Most tee boxes are good and the ones that aren't are about to be replaced as they have several cut outs ready for sod.
The pace was also great on a Saturday. The starter doing rounds keeping people moving is exactly what separates Good courses like this from poorly run like Crystal Lake.
In a year this course will be amazing. It is already almost there.
A great course south of Atlanta
Played the course twice this week and very impressed with new ownership and significant improvements in process. Fairways, greens in excellent condition and tee boxes in are also being replaced. Course well managed with solid pace of play.
Nice refresh to Wolf Creek
It had been some time since I played Wolf Creek (at least 5 years). I was very pleased with the condition of the course. The redesigned 9 & 18 holes were nicely done. I can visually see the results of the investments being made around the course. Cart paths being redone, GPS in carts, redoing greens, and renewing worn tee boxes. Looking forward to playing again soon and time to add them to the course rotation we play!
Improved Wolf Creek Golf Course
It's been a while since I played Wolf Creek as the course of old was simply not worth the cost for multiple reason.
However, after hearing nothing but positive golf reviews from players on the great improvements and changes to the course. I decided to give Wolf Creek another look!
Great staff, experience and the course was in amazing shape. Great job to all involved with revitalizing Wolf Creek👊🏾 🏌🏿♂️
Great course, but pricey
We went and played Wolf Creek for the first time since they opened the rebuilt 9th and 18th holes. It is a great course, challenging, but offers different tiers of difficulty with widely ranging tees.
The cost is very high @ $85/round. Additionally, the course doesn't have a beer license and doesn't sell any on-site.
Great course, great conditions
Really enjoyed playing at Wolf Creek. Staff was great. They could use better food offerings and ability to sell alcohol would enhance the experience.
Good afternoon on the course
I had not played at Wolf Creek in over 15 years, and really was not expecting a whole lot, but I have to say that I was impressed at the conditions of the course. The fairways were nice, the greens were a little slow, but rolled true for Bermuda, and generally everything was very nice. Some of the tee boxes on the Blues need some TLC, but there was room to find a spot and those that needed the help were typically driver holes, so you were teeing it up anyway. Other than that, I know that I will be back to play again. Teed off at 2:30 and was finished before 6:45, so for me pace of play was not an issue.
Excellent!
The renovations of #9 and 18 are fantastic. In addition, other holes have been improved with new grass. The greens are rolling true. An overall great experience!
Awesome Round!
Course is in excellent condition from tee to green!!
We love what you have done
The course was in great condition. The two new greens are beautiful and were certainly worth waiting for. We will return soon as this course has become our group’s favorite despite the lack of amenities.
Improvements look great.
Renovations on holes 9 and 18 are complete and look great. The entire course is in great shape. You can tell Wolf Creek put some money into the course. Our tee time was 7:50am Monday morning. Pace of play was great. We can't wait to play it again.
Course is in pristine condition
Great condition and layout for the price. Pace of play for a holiday was pretty good. A little unorganized off the first tee but would definitely recommend for public Atlanta golf
9 and 18 are open!
First day with the new greens for 9 and 18 open for play. Still some very minor construction with tree removal and cart path replacement still wrapping up, but the course itself was lush. Great conditions.
