Great layout, conditions and pace of play
Love this course. If you haven’t played it before, add it to your list of clubs to play.
Not a private experience as marketed
$105. 5 hours later we finished. The only thing the course is good at is sliding your credit card and bunker sand when (and I emphasize "when") the bunker is raked.
0-stars if I could.
SO SLOWWWWWW
The course itself was great. No problems there.
It was no adjustment to pace of play. No one said anything. You go guys waiting on Par 5s just to hit it 10 yards. Have to do better. As of now I will not be back.
Over priced
I just recently went to play here and it was the most expensive golf I've ever played I'm sorry but even with the golf now app I won't be returning
Great course, Terrible Tee Boxes
Love the course but the tee box conditions are unforgivable. The audacity of this course to charge $100+ green fees while 80% of tee boxes are bare dirt is beyond me. Wouldn’t recommend playing here until management is able to right the ship and improve conditions.
Great deal for a great course
Had a solid experience at CH. Tee boxes were the only inconsistent part. Construction going on but was ok since it was clearly to make the course even better!
Constructive Criticism
Especially for a weekend round, clubhouse at turn was highly inefficient and had to ask for service on just the basic bottled drinks and snacks, didn't find a single par aid ball wash with water in it, directional signs could be clearer in the few places to next hole location. Course itself was nice with challenging setup along with lots of risk/reward opportunities!
Nicest greens and course in the area!!!
The greens and course are in amazing shape! I would highly recommend!
CH
One of my favorite courses. It was beautiful this past weekend with greens in great condition and flowers all out by the greens. Great course !
Great course. Tough greens. There was construction on hole 4 and took away some of the play.
Watch out
Hold on to your wallet. A lot of water or by the smell of it, sewer work being done on some of the front 9. By the looks of it, it is going to tear up a lot of the 4th and 5th holes. But they don’t tell you that. Oh, and they book weekend tee times BEFORE the sun comes up and in 9 minute intervals. So that means all the tee times get back up. Long days and the rangers can’t really help the pace. Don’t do it.
Staff makes it
The check in was super friendly and the girl who took care of our food was a rock star. Truly one of the nicest person I’ve met. (Wish I got her name) greens are great, tee boxes fair, fairways a little rough. All in all good lay out decent shape great staff! Good value at $50, above that there are better options.
Chapel Hill Golf Course is a blast!
Great golf course overall. Great conditions all around. Greens are all kept in great condition, with some really tricky tiers. The last 2 holes on the course were brutal, with the green on 17 having a wicked pin placement, and the nice carries over water to finish up on 18. Definitely a great layout!
good deal for price
Good deal for the cost, especially on weekdays with fewer golfers
Great course
Great course. Greens were some of the best I’ve ever played
Not Inpressed
I have played this course plenty of times. Anxious to play as it is a private club. Wouldn’t know it from observing the driving range and first tee. Complete madness. I knew it was going to be a long day. The Rees are over seeded for winter play they are green but doesn’t look like they have been mowed in months. I had to place my tee shot next to an old divot to get a clear shot. I have never been to a course that did not mow the greens in the morning. Very frustrating to play a course and see the morning dew ball tracks, especially after paying so much money. I feel sorry for the members as they probably pay a lot of money for dues. Pace of play was awful. 5 hours. There was a ranger driving around all he said was it is backed up. After round we went to the snack bar for a beverage. All tables were full only 1 server. Waited in line for 5 minutes to pay. We went to Johnny’s Pizza and had a sandwich and more beer. My advice is to avoid this course.
Don’t waste your money or your time
The owner is really neglecting this course. The range is a cow pasture. The greens aren’t being attended to, bumpy, shaggy and in poor condition. Cups not moved in days. Bunkers are unattended and full of rocks and pebbles. Pace of play is 5 hours at best. Washed out areas and fairways have been blown off from all the grass clippings. Branches and trees that have been cut are just left where they fell. Not sure what Bobby Jones Golf Links is doing for their fees. Heard the owner is just milking it for the money and it looks like it. He has zero golf background and it shows. Oh yeah, forget getting food at the turn unless you have a spare 20 mins. No grab and go food.
