Durham Lakes Country Club
About
Durham Lakes Country Club is conveniently situated just south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, making it accessible from both Midtown and Downtown Atlanta as well as from the Metro's surrounding counties. The golf course wanders through mature forests filled with hardwoods and Southern pines, laced with meandering streams. Wetlands and sparkling lakes dot the scenic landscape as well. At 7,100 yards from the back tees, the golf course offers plenty of length. The challenging layout features narrow, tree-lined fairways and subtly undulating greens. The many natural hazards are complemented by strategically placed bunkers that follow the contours of the terrain. No two holes are alike on this diverse layout. It will test your creative shot making skills and your ability to think strategically. Durham Lakes Country Club is a fair test but it's not overly difficult for the high handicapper.

A course with lots of potential.
Obvious that this course has declined from its original glory, but there are signs of it returning. The layout is awesome but the geese ruin the water holes. Putting through an obstacle course is not fun.
Favorite metro course lay out.
Big improvement in course condition from last year. Even after huge down pours the night before course was well drained. Challenging track as always. Bunkers below par but mainly due to rain fall night before. Great value with the discounted rate.
Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. One of my favorite courses.
I miss having the cart GPS. Other than that, this course is great with a challenging and well thought out design. There are no dumb holes at Durham Lakes! Position is key from tee to green on every hole. Love this Course!
A very nice course that is enjoyable for golfers at any level.
A very nice course that is enjoyable for golfers at any level. This course mixes traditional & links layout 1 of the best overall layouts I've ever played.
Greens are in good shape
The greens at this course are in good shape. The rest of the course could use some more attention. I played it for the first time and I would go back. For the money it is a good deal.
Good course needs attention
Fun course to play from white tees. Need to cut back areas just off of course easy to lose ball out of fairway. Sand traps need attention. Enjoy the course payed a round with 2 in around 3 hrs on 5-27-13. Played the course twice during May 2013.
Course Plays Well
Greens are in great shape, Fairways average condition, Course is in very good conditions at present. When the fairways come in and get a little thicker this course will be a real prize to play.
Tough From The Tips
The course played hard, dry and fast. The lay out is very challenging and you really should get a yardage book if you have never played it before. Staff is polite and friendly and it was a great mid week value!
Scenic Test
Durham Lakes is a challenging course with a lot of character. The front nine is very tight, while the back nine offers more room with more lakes. Make sure you bring a few extra golf balls. The greens are well designed and in good shape. The fairways are still a bit thin.
Always a challenge!
Durham Lakes is in very playable shape and is always a challenge. The fairways need a couple more weeks of warm weather to really come in but the greens where in great shape and rolling true. Our cart had GPS which has been kind of a "On again, off again" sort of thing at DL and is really required as there aren't many markers other than the 150's. Overall the course condition was good and I will be back to play again.
Fun layout
The course has a lot of fun holes over water. Greens aren't great but pretty smooth rolling. I'd play there again. The staff was friendly.
This course is coming along.
I used to play this course regularly because I could get a great rate on golfnow but I stopped because it had fallen into pretty bad shape. It's not great, but it is getting better. The recently aerated greens were coming back nicely and the overall condition of the course is getting better except for the bunkers. Most of them were pretty awful. Some of them didn't have rakes. It is a challenging but fair layout.
great track, poor condition and maintenance
A great layout and challenging golf course. Unfortunately the course and bunkers were poorly mantained. The greens were pretty good and I would play it again. Very friendly staff.
Good Layout But Needs Investment!
It is clear when stood on the first tee that the course is lacking in investment. Actually it is clear in the pro shop which is almost totally devoid of stock. The fairways are extremely brown (though to be fair this seems to be an affliction which most courses in the area suffer from) but the greens were not too bad. Not much in the way of yardage markers.
My round started badly but picked up with back to back birdies. I hooked up with a couple of locals who were good company. Overall the course has some interesting undulating holes, a few water features, and could be really good if they had more money. As it stands it's fairly good value for money if you pay in the region of $30.
Challenging course for all levels of golfers.
Love this course, it gives you so many different looks, and a lot of dog leg's. Not my home course but I play it once or twice a month.
Good Deal
Green was just airated, grasses good, and moderate yardage (6,600 from Yellow Tee), no rush. Good access from Downtown Atlanta to South. Marshalls are minimum and could not get food cart.
Great layout and challenging shotmaking decisions
Really enjoyed the course flow and the variety of shots required on each hole. Found that I used each club in my bag by the end of the day. Overall great value.
Great coursef or the money.
This is a great test for most golf games. Excellent staff and course was well maintained.
Greens are back
After a couple of rough years the greens here are in pretty good shape (only a couple holes w/ issues). Winter, so all grass is dormant; only a pop-up weed or two. Good enough for a quick weekday round, as is close to Fayetteville and Peachtree City.
