Golfer Reviews
Fairways cut too short for this time of year. Overall course was too wet, worst condition I have ever seen this course. Would be better to close the course for a few weeks to allow it to drain, grow.
Great golf day!
Great course! I’ll come back after it dries out some and the grass greens up.
Condition
Love Hampton Golf but the greens just aerated and sanded and tee boxes were in poor condition as well. Understand early spring hope in better shape soon
Good round
Winter conditions in the middle of February and greens had just been aerated, of which we were aware, but 80F so course was dry despite recent rains.
Sunday Afternoon and No Rain!
Played 18 on 2/5. Cart path only, but makes sense with all the rain. Dormant fairways tees. Greens were firm and fast. Overall good conditions for February in north Georgia. Hampton is a decent track with homes on almost every hole, but a good value with the increasing price of greens fees these days. We will play again when the weather is good.
Course Changes
They changed Hole 7 (Par 5 Downhill with the creek running between the upper and lower fairways) to a Par 4 and changed Hole 18 to a Par 5. Because the course is a Par 71, I think they should change Hole 7 back to a Par 5 and make the course a Par 72 overall. Hole 7 was a terrific challenge and made you really plan out your tee shot. It’s a complete disservice to the course and to the people playing to make Hole 7 a Par 4. Other than that the course is a good value for its condition
Nice course
Unfortunately we played right after 2 days of rain. The course does not drain well and the tea boxes were in horrible condition. That being said, I have played in the summer when everything was Green and the course was in very nice shape.. the greens were in very good shape and very fast both times. I would still recommend this course on dry days.
Winter golf at Hampton
Course was in good shape. Wet and cold. Frost delay. Cart path only. Staff was very friendly. I find this course challenging. A few holes you have to hit the ball 225 plus from the tee to make a plateau or it will roll back to a collection area leaving you 200 into a par 4. I birdied two of the par 5s. I’m not a long hitter so my short game had to be on point. Handicap is 7, I played the Blue/White combo tees. Nice practice green and chipping green. Matts only on the range.
We got to play.
All the tee boxes were a little rough and the greens were in ok shape. I know, winter golf. But I’ve played other courses in better shape. But, we got to play.
