Golfer Reviews
Nice bent grass greens
The course was in good condition with bent grass greens rolling smoothly. Fairways are in good condition considering we had 4 inches of rain last night. Staff at the snack bar and beverage cart are very friendly. Pro shop just OK. Enjoyable round of golf. Even if I don’t have my foursome, I always meet someone nice to play with at Hampton. Layout is very challenging from Number 4,5, 7 and 18. Other holes are birdey chances.
Would Recommend
Enjoyed my round quite a bit. Fairways were in excellent shape. Greens rolled pretty well considering it still had a little sand on it. Sand traps were well kept (rare occurrence during Covid). The ability to hit a straight drive is very important on several of the holes.
Great Experience
from the clubhouse to the course we had a wonderful experience. We're definitely looking forward to going back.
Great place to play!
I like to play this track at least once per year and always have a great time. The layout and conditions have always been good. From tee to green Hampton is very solid. If you haven’t played this course, you definitely should.
Fun layout - good value but pace horrendous
First time playing here in a long time, would like to return. Course is in good shape and it's a fair price to play.
The pro shop staff should really focus on controlling pace of play and monitoring it on the course. At one point yesterday on a back nine par 3, there were four groups on the hole. Four. Never saw a ranger and perhaps the number of tee times should be limited to allow for a more appropriate pace of play.
Additionally, please update and communicate to customers how much extra they will need to pay to have their own cart during the pandemic. I do appreciate the fact the course allows players to choose their own cart - some people are more cautious during the pandemic and safety should always be first. Over the phone, I was informed I wouldn't be charged any extra above the golfnow price. However, my confirmed reservation stated the course would charge $5 extra - which I find reasonable and am willing to pay. When paying for the round at the pro shop, I was informed it was $10, but that we would be met "half way" since golfnow had that information on my reservation (which I displayed to staff).
This is not an easy course
Overall, the round was enjoyable, but very challenging. The elevation changes are extreme. Fairways and greens are in good condition, but the tee boxes were horrible. You need to take extreme care when driving on the course due to the hills and valleys.
We probably will not play here again.
Value course
Hampton Golf Village is a decent par 71 course north of Atlanta. The course was well kept, and it was fun to play. The front 9 is very hilly, while the back 9 opens up and plays much more flat and open after hole 11.
The pace of play was quite slow on a weekday afternoon, I can’t imagine what a weekend tee time would look like. They send out groups every 9 minutes and there was no Marshall on the course. We pulled up to a par 3 to find a 4some on the hole, and a 3some and 4some waiting in front of us. A couple groups just gave up and went to play the front 9 again. I understand trying to squeeze as many golfers in as possible, but we likely won’t be back due to the slow pace.
Golf
I really enjoyed the course. The staff is excellent. My only problem was that there was not enough space between start times or the marshal was not getting people to play at a normal rate. We made the turn and there were 4 groups lined up waiting to tee off on number 11. After 15 minutes waiting, we decided to quit and get a rain check.
Bs
We had two times scheduled and they allowed a different group to tee off early and then try to blame use for moving slow. We paid we should be able to play.
Nice coarse
No complaints or was a Saturday so a little waiting was. Expected
Beautiful Day, great course
Wonderful day of golf, everything very good with exception of greens that have a lot of ball marks. Other than that good conditions on a course fun to play.
Fun course to play.
This is a fun course to play. The layout is great.
Easy Track, Great Value
This course is great for the average golfer. Decent layout, easy to stay in fairway. Fairways are in good condition, some boxes need repair and greens are coming back from being punched. This and RiverPines are my value courses. Not perfect shape, but the cost matches perfectly. Friendly staff, rangers helped regulate, just a basic grill and cart girl came twice.
First time
The track was great. I will have to come back when it had rained but other than that I enjoyed the layout.
