Riverside Golf Course
About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Good layout, greens and tee boxes. Hard pan fairways.
the drought is still affecting this course's fairways. barely any grass in a lot of places and very problematic around the greens. impossible to chip on hard pan fairways. you have to put from 20 yards and in off the green!
Tough Conditions
I do not blame the staff and maintenance crew at all, but it was a bit of a tough round. Let me preface this by stating we acknowledge that we are in the worst drought in the history of Florida. That being said, the greens were in great shape, but the fairways were unplayable. Almost no grass at all and were almost like hitting off of concrete. I would love to attempt this course again after we get some more consistent rain. Another note, if you do play here (which I do recommend), make sure you be careful if you hit anything out of bounds. The course is tightly lined by houses (it’s in a 55+ community) and the residents we encountered were extremely aggressive and rude. We did our best to apologize for a mishit but they just wanted to engage and shout at us for being “bad golfers”.
Not worth the fee
This is normally a decent course, but the fairways were completely looking like a cow pasture and the greens were too fluffy, they needed to be cut and possibly rolled.
I know there has been not as much rain but the fairways look like they were deseased.
great staff, fun course
We ended up being late on a very busy day and the staff managed to fit us in. Very much appreciated. The rough is not good, but if you stay in the fairways, they are mostly really nice, and the greens are very good. Interesting place.
The course was narrow sometimes, but played well. The ponds were certainly lower due to no rain...it would pl ay tougher with full ponds. The fairways were spotty in places, but the greens were great, and fast. Will play again.
Great play
Greens were in good shape, tee box and some area in the fairways were brown due to watering or lack of.
Typical Florida course
Florida currently has a no burn moratorium out All courses are dry just need to find a little grass the greens are in excellent condition the staff is awesome The layout terrific
fairways are in horrible shape. Course layout very nice
