About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Dry
Played the course today, the overall layout is fine and interesting, however the course is extremely dry. I understand we've had a lack of rain and they are working on installing an irrigation system but just commenting on the conditions experience today. I would wait on playing this course till the irrigation is installed or the courses naturally watered.

Terrible course
The staff was amazing. But the course not so much.. Greens are dead and fairways are sand. Not a fun course especially at almost 5 hrs

Repairs
They should have notified users that some holes would be closed while they are installing new water lines for their irrigation system. Several fairway and fringe areas were under repair.

needs some work
They're in the process of putting in a new irrigation system right now so maybe it'll be better once it's up and running. right now it's bone dry, and hard as concrete. There''s no cart service, no water in the ball washers or water dispensers around the course.

Fairways
very little green grass on the fairways, but to be fair, there is work being done to improve the condition.

Must read! Fairways burnt, lack of hydration
On vacation in FL, so never played at this course. Fair ways are in bad shape. Greens are decent. If you want beverages, make sure you buy them when you check in... because like 99% of golf courses that come back, this course does not come back at the 9th hole.

New irrigation system coming?
Fairways were very dry, grass almost dead in many places. Many sandy area in the fairways and around the greens. Greens were pretty good. Tee blocks were pretty dried out too. They had alot of equipment with pipes along sides of the fairways, so it looks like they are installing a new irrigation system.
