About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Good price just needs more water for the fairways
I love the layout, you can make it as tough as you want based on the tee. We have been pretty dry of late here in FLA so the fairways were a bit dry. Greens were good. Tee boxes good. pace of play good. great people on the course. Once we get a bit more rains, this course will green up for better fairways.
Easy Course
Course is not that challenging but of course you need to keep the ball in play. The course is installing new irrigation lines and hopefully this will help the fairways play a lot better. Can't beat the price we paid for in-season rounds.

I’m done with this course!
Riverside has the worst staff in the pro shop. Rude rude rude!! We had a league there at one time and left the league be of the staff. After a year of not playing we returned to try. It turned out to be a huge mistake. Mike in the pro shop is the sorriest of them all. Needs major etiquette training!! Our group will not go back at all!! And the residents who live there just jump in between groups and if you even see a ranger they don’t say anything. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this place.

Needs work
The fairways are pretty bad. There is a lack of grass. The greens are in good shape and so are the tee boxes. You sure get a good roll on the fairways since there is a lot of hard packed sand. They have gone up on the Greens Fees and it costs about the same as a much better course. I play here often when the price is Right. The people working here are Super Nice !

Rough Shape
Fairways were more dead or dirt than grass. Greens were hit or miss. For a shorter course it was a good challenge. No yardage markers other than scorecard and tee box.

Course conditions
I decided to play to see if what everyone was saying about this course was true and also got a very good price to play. What they are saying is true. The fairways are extremely thin and burned up. The greens where they are thin there fast and where you see a little darker green there slow. It's too bad because I think the layout is enjoyable. The course right now is in terrible shape.

Not worth $33
Course is not in good shape. Dead grass everywhere. Hardly any grass in the “fairways”. Pace of pace was slow. Was waiting on every tee box, and group behind us were waiting on us. Probably won’t be going back anytime soon

Don’t bother
This course is in very rough shape. The pace was slow and the ranger just drove around the course, did not see him talk to anyone. Probably won’t go back.

Winter Condition
When compared to other courses in the local area, this course is fair. Other courses fairways are in much better shape. But there are alot of courses that are worse. Hoping this improves as the weather warms up. Too many golfers drive too close to greens which doesn't help.
Crowded
The back up on the first tee was so long I never even got to play. I had a 9:17 tee time and no way was I going to be able to keep any momentum with 3 foursomes waiting in front of me.
The guy working was nice so I assume I only lost my $5.40 reservation fee!

fairways need work
most of what grass was on the fairways was burned out and sparse. greens were fairly fast and in good shape.

try it again after some rain
could be a fun, somewhat challenging layout, but fairways were in need of serious water. sometimes hard to find grass to hit from. may improve when we get some rain, obviously not watering fairways much.
