Renditions Golf Course
About
Renditions Golf Course is a unique layout that features replicas of holes from U.S. Open or PGA Championship venues. Given each hole is modeled after holes from around the world, the course offers plenty of variety ranging from parkland to links. Holes six through nine are replicas of Augusta National's famous Amen Corner. Like their inspiration, Renditions' versions are a formidable test. The golf course offers a round unlike any other. Nowhere else would you be able to get a taste of golf's most well known courses all in one place. After several hundred trees were added to the landscape, which was formerly the site of a sand mining operation, it was completely transformed into the perfect setting for golf, enhanced even further by the Patuxent River that flows nearby.

renditions- a fun gimmick
the staff was great, very friendly, and professional. i expected the course to be a poor representation of major championship golf courses, but actually its was very thought out and pretty well done. the greens were not the crazy slopes that i have seen on tv, and needed a little maintance, but less severe slopes makes it more playable for everyone. it was the day after it rained, so it was cart path only, which i hated, because the huge gps on the cart were almost useless if you can't drive close to your ball. the back nine, is defintly tougher and much longer, maybe 300-400 yards longer. the round took almost 5 hours, due to the weather, cart path only and it was pretty busy for a wednesday. all in all i could've had a better time, if it wasn't windy, and cart path only, with that being said, i took a bunch of great pictures, had a good time, and was very impressed by the layout and the history the course provided. a good expierance and i will defintly try to play there again, with better conditions
The feature holes were very well done, fun experience, greens were disappointing
Beautiful course, #17 at TPC and Amen Corner were well done, fun to "see" in person, those holes are worth the experience alone. Was pretty disappointed with the shape the greens were in, for two reasons:
1.) For playing on a Sunday they seemed a little long in some places and just slow in general. Dry patches are expected for late in the summer, grass just seemed a little long a few greens for such an otherwise pristine course.
2.) Mainly, and I know that you can't control what players do, but there were ball marks ALL OVER every green, totally untouched, I repaired 3-5 marks on every green to try to help the cause. Grounds should probably help a little more with that and there should be more awareness (at every course) put out by the staff and starters to really repair your ball marks.
Nice course!
Course was in good shape, played fair yet had some challenges....worth the money I paid from Golf Now
Unique Layout, Average Otherwise
Renditions' draw is that it contains replicas of famous holes from all four PGA Majors. To that point, it is as advertised and adds a uniqueness to the course few places can boast. However, I found three problems with this novelty:
1. The replications here are a lot easier than their real-world versions. While that aids in a more agreeable final score at the end of the round, you don't come away with as much satisfaction in scoring a par on say...the 97-yard reproduction of TPC Sawgrass's island green par-3 #17 as you would if you had played the real 130-yard version. This is my own opinion, I'm sure there are plenty of golfers who will be happy not to have to risk losing balls trying to hit the green.
2. As you might expect, the replication only goes so far and the disparity in the condition of the course you play from the world-famous course it's based on becomes that much more apparent. The slower, bumpier greens (with grossly aerated fringe when I played), the slightly shaggy (and rocky!) bunkers, the occasionally patchy fairway all take away from the experience more than if it was just a regular course.
3. Unless you JUST finished watching the Masters, or Players, or spent days walking one of the famous courses highlighted, most of the holes you play are unrecognizable. You know the names Carnoustie, Medinah, Southern Hills, and Oakmount, but would you really recognize a random hole from one of those courses if it was presented to you in 90% reproduction? Sure, you'll recognize Amen Corner from Augusta, but other than playing it right after watching a memorable shot or round by a pro playing at the Masters, you lose a lot of appreciation for what Renditions offers.
The unique layout aside, the course is fairly average for the price. Electric carts w/GPS and concrete paths are a nice touch and the staff is very attentive and professional. There's a nice clubhouse and they offer a beer for about a buck after your round if you fill out a short survey. But the course itself needed some attention. Despite being aerated recently there were soggy AND burned out spots on some of the fairways and greens, and the bunkers were unsightly filled with actual ROCKS in them, something you never expect to see.
As mentioned before the greens run a little slower than you might expect, good for some golfers, bad for others. The rough can get thick but I found the fairways to be rather receptive to shots that didn't stay straight. There is a lot of water to hit into on this course and not all of it is visible from the tees (some of the fairways are hidden too so pay attention to your scorecard!).
Overall this is a decent course that is maybe still recovering from the brutal July weather. Its uniqueness makes it a desirable place to play if you haven't before but don't expect an exceptional experience. And be sure to find a good GolfNow deal, it'll make a big difference here.
Always a fun course to play.
Great clubhouse, great staff and 18 unique golf holes from all over the world. Two of the British Open holes (Royal Birkdale and Carnoustie) are just flat-out fun golf holes. The island-green 17th at Sawgrass as tough a par 3 as you'll find anywhere. And Amen Corner is as true a challenge as you can find outside of Augusta. Had'nt played the course in 6 years and, now, can't wait to get back! For a true golfer it would be very difficult not to enjoy this track.
Great fun
Lots of fun. A very fare course for all skill levels. It has everything you would like to have for a fun round. I didn't score well but it was me not the course. Lol.
Its ok
Good concept poorly executed. Course is overpriced. Should be closer to 60 rather than 80. Fun course though. Its in ok condition and not crowded. Good beer prices for a golf course.
Great concept and lots of fun. Beautiful fairways. Divots on greens need some work.
Playing borrowed holes from some of the worlds most challenging and well known courses was a ton of fun and I would highly recommend the course based on that alone. The greens could use some work on ball marks. Maybe a stern warning by the starter that players should fix ball marks would do the trick. Another inexpensive fix would be stakes with ropes to keep people from shorts cutting turns in the cart path and destroying the surrounding scenery. The bunkers could benefit from a tighter more defined edging job around the edges (though I realize the pot bunkers are intended to appear a little rough on the edges).
An excellent experience
From the time I turned into the lane leading to the clubhouse I was impressed with the landscaping, then the parking, then the pro shop, then the bar and grill, then the range. the course played to its length, I played the blue tees, and it was very representative of the holes rendered. I have played most of the holes on the actual courses here and in Scotland and Renditions gave a good account of them. Fairways were excellent, bunkers were ok as some were very thin on sand, and the greens fairly smooth with the amount of play on them. All in all, I had an excellent and will recommend Renditions to everyone.
P.S. I work at Northwest Golf Course in Silver Spring, MD
Great replica course!
Renditions is a terrific replica course. The Sawgrass and Augusta holes give you a true appreciation for those courses. I've played this course about 10 times. Each time the course conditions are different. Due to the wet summer the greens were real bumpy and slow but don't let that deter you from trying this course.
Fun to play.
Renditions is a great place to play, if you don't mind paying $80 on weekends. Course is challenging but, fun and playable. Needs a water cooler or two on the course. Had to pay $4 for a bottle of water.
Challenging recreations of championship holes
Really enjoyed the course, the layout and the day. The staff was friendly, and very helpful. We had some bad weather come thru and our computer GPS notified us the course was stopping play and a Marshall actually came out to warn us of the storm and where to take shelter. We went to a nearby snack shake for cover. We had a super nice attendant help us with our orders and refill of ice for our on cart coolers. After a short wait we finished our round. I've always enjoyed the course but this outing was super fun and a very nice way for me to take my best friend out to celebrate his birthday!!
Great Layout
Great track to play. The only thing I wish was that the greens were faster like a PGA Tour course.
Excellent experience
Really enjoyed playing this course. It is very well maintained and playing those famous holes from around the world was pretty cool. It rained while I was out there but that actually enhanced the experience on this course. I played a comparable "replica" course a few years ago in Mrytle Beach and I would say Renditions was equal if not superior to that one. This was a very good golfing experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wonders what it would be like to play on courses they see on TV.
Can't wait to return
Course was in great shape and provides great thrills with replicas of holes at major venues. There was Amen Corner, the 17th at sawgrass, and a hole from Merion complete with the basket flagstick. Even better was the great price afforded by GolfNow. I will be returning to Renditions as often as possible.
The course was fun and challenging.
The course was fun to play as each hole was pretty close to what the real holes are like. The course was challenging and in great shape, even with the wet conditions. The staff made you feel welcome.
Amen Corner was a real treat
First time playing this course. Challenging and fun. Course was in great condition despite lots of rain. Amen Corner is a real treat.
Get what you pay for
It's not cheap but worth the money. The course was in great shape and we moved along. We complained about the group in front of us but the ranger pointed out we had played the front nine in 2 hours. So we couldn't complain. The guys I played with had reserved the tee time earlier and paid $115 with GolfNow I only paid $89
Great replica of some of the best holes in golf.
Great staff (very friendly), amazing layout of holes and rights to brag about if you par all 3 holes of Amen Corner!
Course is fun and beautiful
Beautiful course with many past major course replica holes. Unfortunately you can tell it's a tourist spot to for some amateur golfers as I saw on a number of holes people don't fix their ball marks. We waited out a vicious 20 minute storm and within 5 minutes of it passing we were back on the course. Wet and soggy but the course drains pretty well. Quick greens and challenging, it was a super fun course and we enjoyed ourselves. I'm about a 10 handicap and shot an 84. Playing for 29 bucks helped the value!! haha
