Bent Tree Country Club

Course is wide open and forgiving for those that have errant shots. Hazards are well placed and not unfair to the occasional player.

Several tee boxes (par 3s) need rest. Most other boxes are good to very good .

Fairways are good, but I believe the turf could use a little more length.

Greens are fast.

I come to this area every winter but haven't played this course in a while. I don't remember why I quit, but I'm sorry I did. It's an older course and could use some more revenue for improvements, but I'm impressed with what they accomplish. The greens are quite tricky. You see a lot of break on some, but the break is minimal..It looks like they could use some water also. The bunkers could use some more sand too. I mean, you're on the Florida coast! How hard could it be to come up with sand? That's about all the negatives. The rest was positive. It's a really cool layout with enough challenge for most any player. I especially liked the par threes. I immediately booked another round, so that says it all.

Mixed grasses on greens making it difficult to put later in the day. Weeds grew and grass didn't so the ball did not roll true on greens with these weeds.

Rates little high for early morning rounds. Overall, a decent course.

I'm from the upper Midwest where we only have 6-7 months of playable conditions. We have just recently started coming down to SWFL for the winters. Why is it that every course in these price ranges are average conditions at best? $65 - $130, poor bunker maintenance, trees still down from 2-3 years ago, fairways and off the fairways the grass is very thin. I just don't get.

I snowbird in Sarasota every year. I play Bent Tree 2 or three times each visit. This was the best condition I’ve seen the course in. The greens were smooth and the fairways were green and in good shape. Only critique is they seem to have watered deeply around the greens and this left a number of green side bunkers un playable. A number of the teeing areas were a little beat up but you could always find a spot to hit from.

All in all a great value and fun time.

Golf course has a call center that has no knowledge of the course of its policies, full price rider fee, ride and disrespectful starter and clubhouse clerk. Facilities are trash. They don’t care about the course, or its players.

FYI there is no driving range, just 2 nets to hit in to for warm up. They do have a small chipping area.
