Bent Tree Country Club

The course was in excellent shape and the greens rolled very nicely. Played the white tees which were challenging but very fair. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was a great value for the money I will definitely play there again.

We arrived 30 minutes ahead of our time which was supposed to be 1:00pm. We did not tee off until 1:30. Front nine we waited on every hole. Five groups on number 7. Finished at 4:15 (2hrs. 45 minutes.) Played #10 and stopped as it was evident we would not finish before dark. Asked desk clerk for credit/rain check. I was told that "corporate policy" did not allow it. In the process of appealing to corporate President.

Today was not a good day. We arrived for our 1:30 t time only to discover there no carts available. As a result we had to wait for a group to finish to get a cart. That caused a 30 minute lag time from our original scheduled time. I predicted the possibility of us running out of gas… and we did on the 13th . The pro shop closes at 5:00 so obviously no one answered the phone. There is no Marshall on the field. Other golfers were kind enough to get us back to the clubhouse.

We have played the course a few times with no problems.

Last week - perfect. This week, well that’s a different story.

Tee time was 12:07. There were no power carts in the lot when we arrived. Starting groups had to stand around and wait, finally being assigned carts once finishing players came off the 18th hole. When we finally got a cart, the seat on the driver’s side was horribly ripped and the foam beneath it gouged out. Tee times were running almost 30 minutes behind. We stopped after 12 holes because once we actually teed off, it took us 4 and1/2 hours to get to that point, and we had dinner reservations to get to. The restaurant was not open. A cooler with sandwiches for sale in the pro shop yielded an egg salad sandwich whose bread was wet and the egg tasted gross. Three and four groups on every hole, with no ranger to deal with the situation. Starters tried to cope with the cart disaster, but it was VERY disappointing…

Decent layout with conditions exceeding expectations. Will be back for this bargain priced gem.

Bent Tree is a great course but we golfed on their record breaking busiest day. Had to wait 15 minutes past our tee time for a cart. Play was backed up at every hole. The weather was perfect. We made the best of it. Will try to course again after season.

What a difference time can make I played Bent Tree four years ago and swore I would never go back After playing it I can’t wait to play it again Everything is in excellent shape The greens are the best I have played in Florida in the last two months what a pleasure. The fairways had actual grass The staff could not have been more friendly or attentive. I plan to play Bent Tree at least once a week for the next two months and probably more than that

Pace of play was bad. It took us 51/2 hours to play 18 holes. We waited on every tee box except for the last four holes because people were dropping out. 8 minute intervals bunches people up and there needs to be a ranger out there to move players along. PLAY READY GOLF and walk to your ball once in awhile, no need to drive to each players ball.

My wife and I had a 1:52 tee time, with a 6:30 sunset, that gave us over 41/2 hours to get our Round in. When we got there they were running over a half hour behind. To top that off it took OVER three hours to play the front nine. We paid for 18 and got in nine. That’s not a very good deal. They need a ranger and if people can’t play in 4-4-/2 hours they need to either pick it up or be asked to leave.

First of all you may have a tee time BUT, you have to wait for someone to finish to use their cart..

If you like slow play, you’ll be delighted. If you like real slow play, you’ll by ecstatic. And, if you fancy an over 3 HOUR 9 Holes- you found your course. Ugh!

Fast true greens, professional friendly staff. Overall grounds are well maintained. Nice tree lined fairways. Good use of left and right doglegs and bunker placement calls for shot making versus grip and rip swings will definitely play again and again.

Not enough carts and play time was 6 hours after 30 minute delay for carts. .

Waited 20.min for carts.. Tee off 15 late. Waited on every shot.

From my favorite cart guy (ron) to the pro (doug) to the starter we were treated great as always. They paired us up and got us off on time and luckily the group ahead let us thru (rare in Fla) and we played in 3 and 1/2 hours. Greens continue to be amazing for a public course and fairways and tee boxes actually improved since two weeks ago!! Of course $70 is a lot when I was always paying $25 and less for Benttree BUT given what's out there $70 was well worth it because of the condition! They should be very proud of the way they/ve maintained things and the way they treat people. played that course for many years and it's never been this good.

First time plying here even though we’ve come to Sarasota for over 35 years. I was happy with everything about the course and amenities. Interesting layout. Some very challenging holes and some easier ones. For public golf you really can’t ask for better for under $50. Starter Bruce was extremely friendly. We will gladly come back. For the price we paid it’s a very acceptable Grade B+++.
