Great, beautiful course. Easy to loose balls however!

No food and beverage, no on course service. Shop is temp building that looks a little sketchy. Nice layout with fair amount of hazards. Many of the fairways funnel down to the greens. Decent turf on fairways and greens. Nice views. A reasonable round in this part of the world.

Greens were in good shape.

We had the opportunity to play at 700h. We set the pace of play which was quick - 3.5 hours.

Jim was wonderful in getting the cart ready and our threesome off quickly. He is a treasure.

The bathroom on the 10th tee is the best on three continents. Such beautiful use of natural stone and wood.

The Nenes are always something we look forward to seeing and this time with their goslings. We also love all the trees in full bloom.

Enjoyable golf course made special by an incredible, attentive staff. From the incredibly helpful check-in, in the pro shop to the cart attendants to the gents that cleaned our clubs after the round. They put many of the so called "resort courses" to shame. Excellent experience!

Golf at Makani was quite enjoyable and we lucked out with a very comfortable sunny day with a very light breeze. There are some very challenging holes and the course was most enjoyable for me and my family.

This is a beautiful course. Lots of wildlife - birds, including chickens and wild turkeys and we were lucky enough to see a herd of goats of all sizes and colors.

Scenery is great from up there and it’s cooler weather.

Oh and plenty of interesting challenging holes. Island green on 17 and 18th green requires a shot over a large pond. Staff are friendly

Be prepared for tighter, fairways and dry conditions. Balls run out and hard to hold greens

Pace late morning easily accommodated some teaching time with a less accomplished golfer.

Excellent for higher handicap players. Hold 17 and 18 are too hard for average player

The condition of the fairways and greens was generally good. What was poor was the condition of the supporting infrastructure, such as:

- frequently poor state of areas around greens and approaches

- poor state of many cart paths, curbs, and steps

- empty or half-filled ponds, exposing the plastic liner where there is one

- wood or pipes lying around

- vegetation often overgrown

While I understand the rate is lower than the courses down on the Kohala Coast that are in a better state, the course overall seemed like it has been neglected. I don't blame the staff, but the course owner who needs to put money into it. It's unfortunate because the views are indeed great.

Greens are very good if a bit slow.
