Makani Golf Club

I enjoyed the course layout— forgiving fairways and bunkers. The rough is “rough” and creeps into the fairways in places, so some good drives end up with bad lies. Greens top-notch. Staff friendly and helpful.

Loved the layout. Staff was great. Minimal snacks but that's not why we came. Tee boxes a little scruffy but not big deal. Will play again.

Really well designed course, lots of water, quick greens, lots of beautiful views, would play again, great rate through Tee off .com , would recommend playing, 17 th island 🏝️ green is cool 😎

More attention could be paid by the Starter. He starter put out two Six-somes in front of two two-somes. The marshall had to break up the larger groups after 7 holes. The course is lovely, challenging and much fun.

We had fun & enjoyed the round! The Island hole #17 was very difficult as normal due to variable from the sea.

The staff are friendly, course was in good conditions. There needs to be more investment into the ProShop. Structurally the building needs work (new roof). Limited merchandise for purchase.

The course layout is challenging for being shorter. Greens are in excellent shape. Great mountain views.

Out of the way, locals and people like me who dont want to spend $200 a round everyday play here. Lack of rain dries out some fairways. Clubhouse is nothing but a fun course to play. #17 island hole is a hoot to play and watch others get wet.

Staff are very friendly. Pace of play was okay.

Course is in okay shape. Good layout. Greens are very tricky.

Playing again this week at Makani.

I have played this course a number of times over the years the years but found it in the worst condition that I have ever seen it Regretted buying more than one round.

Makani is a very affordable course on the Big Island. Greens are fast. Fairways are dry despite getting a fair amount of rain from being up in the mountains.

This course is played a lot by the locals and generally is pretty solid 4-4.5 hrs pace of play.
