Misty Creek Country Club

Unlike other courses (The River Club) that talks about pace of play and then misses the mark totally, Misty Creek, with a full tee sheet were bang on in there pace of play estimate of 4:15. Great layout, great condition

Bring your A game, an extra sleeve of balls, anger management techniques and a rangefinder if you play this course.

The layout is interesting but very challenging. Greens and pin placements are difficult and hazards are everywhere.

You need to target your shots here which is complicated by the fact that the carts do not have GPS so you are left to your own devices. If you can play to your handicap here you are having an exceptional day.

Disappointed to see that green fees have been raised significantly since last year and don’t even include complimentary range balls which will set you back $10. Not a great value for over $100.

I travel quite a bit and take advantage rental clubs at most courses unless I have planned 2 or 3 rounds on my schedule.

Misty Creek CC is part of a gated community. It appears to be an upscale community is the Sarasota area. The course was enjoyable and the staff were friendly.

The set of rental cubs was the WORSE I have experienced!

> Mismatched set - 8 different brands for 9 irons and Very old

> Mismatched set of Driver / 3 wood / Hybrid (Hybrid was very poor)

> All the grips except the driver were very bad....

> The Putter was old. The grip was worn almost to the point of not useable

> The Bag was just as bad. As it turned out there was a hole the size of my hand in the storage pouch. Unfortunately I used this for my keys and wallet. THANKFULLY, My keys fell onto the bottom of the cart's bag area.

> I asked if this was representative of the rentals and it was clear this was a well know issue with the staff. I spoke a manager (he was a few weeks into the job) and he knew of the issue as well.

If I was a resident / member of the course I would be embarrassed to have a guest use these clubs

> You spend $125 green free on a Monday, you would expect at least a decent set of rentals.

Good course and good layout. Only criticism is cost. Better courses available in area for same cost.

Very good experience. Greens were great, Lots of wildlife to make the round interesting. Would definitely play again.

If you are in the Sarasota or Bradenton area this is must play golf course. We played at 2:00. We got there a little early and the starter sent us off with no issues. The golf cart attendant brought carts to our car so we could load up and then check in at the clubhouse. The course by far was the best I played the 4 rounds of my winter escape. They have alligators (including a 14 footer), deer, squirrels, raccoons, birds, and rabbits.

The course is very well groomed. Greens rolled fast and true. Fairways and tee boxes were in pristine condition. The fairways had plenty of grass but would get roll. Well struck shots into the greens were like dart shots.

The best part about this course is location. No road noise or other distractions. A few houses on property but none came into play, felt like we were in a nature preserve.

We were a foursome and played our round in 3:45. We felt like we were the only ones on the course and each hole has a scenic view. A must play. Fantastic!

Fantastic course and experience from the friendliness of the staff to pace of play which was perfect to the course that was in great course and was a great challenge but not impossible.

Beautiful course and well manicured. I don't belong to the country club but from what I saw its nice.

In spite of a few holes with unreasonably difficult layouts, the course is nice. A little pricey though!

Visually appealing with some holes fairly narrow. Fairways seemed dry and greens were slow. Clubhouse is not country club standards. Recommend on sale as there are better tracks for the same price.

Misty Creek will challenge your accuracy off the tee. The smart play is to play 10 yards past the 150 stakes. From there you will have a short iron into the green which offer false fronts and sloped greens. Distance won’t be the problem for average length players. Don’t be greedy off the tee. Greens run true and roll at about 10. Friendly pro shop and members. Fun course to play.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the course thoroughly. The only reason for this not being a five star rating is the pace of play. The foursome in front of us caused us to wait an average of five minutes each hole. They were older and should’ve been hitting from the forward tees, especially the lady, but they chose to use the white tees.

A very pleasant round of golf and one of the best courses for condition, layout and friendliness in the area.

Course is in great shape. Always a pleasure to play there.

Great staff, a couple of narrow-ish fairways, beautiful setting. Starter was a bit over-zealous ("you're more than half a hole behind... If you stay that way for 3 more holes you'll have to skip a hole and come back to it later."), which was totally unnecessary, as we waited for 7 holes for them to tee off. But it was one of the prettier courses we played in the area, and the racoons are unbelievably tame!
