NEEDS LOTS OF WORK
They were shut down for over two months trying to become a subdivision. Greens sanded and shaggy, super slow maybe a 5 / Fairways are not terrible but a little dry. No intermediate and the primary is not watered ball tends to settle down.
Rolling Green Review
The coarse was wide open. The condition of the greens and roof with very poor .
Another Going by the Wayside
This course was doomed by a recent sale to a home developer. JUST ANNOUNCED THEY ARE CLOSING ON JUNE 17 UNTIL OCTOBER. Staff confides this is not for improvements, but to stop the developer's losses - and will likely never reopen. It's a real shame, as this course was always a decent and inexpensive play - though not a great course by any stretch. They generally included lunch and beer (or could be added for $5 on a GN purchased round). The staff are great people and unfortunately will soon be unemployed.
Nice wide open course with great staff
I played on a Saturday as a single and was grouped with 3 gentleman. We played behind a golf club that had 6 groups and despitethat was able to play in 3 hours and forty minutes . Course is wide open and the greens were holding. A few had some reseeding and had recent repair but rolled great. Great course for me since coming down from the northeast I haven’t played in two months, bonus was breakfast and lunch included and two crafts or fountain drinks
MARCHValue for the money
It was a bargain for the price . Meal and 2 drinks plus golf. Course was. A less than satisfactory condition. Some of the greens were in poor condition and it was slow play. Still it was golf and was cheap
My game of golf at rolling green
Enjoyed my game ,the staff at the check in when we arrived not very friendly and welcoming ,gave them my name handed me the tickets to take to the starter ,that is it
The course in good condition ,well maintained ,berage card well staked with drinks beverages and food
Going back to play on Wednesday
Nice course , 3 1/2 hrs easy round. Breakfast / lunch deals plus 2 beers are a regular deal
Worth a few hours . Never a hold up when crowded ,even at the par 3,s. Enjoyable round
Coming back from overseeding
The greens were finally cut after a long stretch of being unplayable. A few greens are still pretty rough, but more than half are playable. Slow, but playable. You need to roll the ball over in the fairways, but that is normal for this course. Bermuda rough is punitive. Layout is not challenging if you hit the ball straight, but course conditions do affect scoring. Good course for snowbirds who want to keep their game in shape. The kitchen and the friendly staff make the experience a decent value.
Shaggy greens
We play Rolling Green often, because the rates are reasonable. The course has been overseeded and greens are watered every two hours, frequently resulting in carts and/or players being drenched when sprinklers go off without warning. The greens have not been cut during this process which has been going on for several weeks. The layout is fairly easy, but the greens are terrible. Until the greens are cut and rolled, I cannot recommend it to anyone who cares about playing a competitive round. Great for practice from tee to green, but try a couple of putts and move to the next tee!
Maintenance issues
Course should be played, lift clean and rake. So many leaves and trigs in fairways, its hard to find ball.
Sand traps like parking lot, hard and full of holes.
