Harvey Penick Golf Campus

Played this course for the first time and definitely enjoyed it. My only "miss-hits" would be that you can't hit woods and driver on some days and you can't take carts to the parking lot. Not biggies but it's the only real separation I have between 4 and 5 stars. The course presents a challenge due to distances being sort of in-between clubs, quick greens, and hazards strategically placed to make play very interesting. Course also presents multiple HIO opportunities. Also was a plus having a grass range to get warmed up. I will most certainly go back and play again very soon!

This is always a fun course to play! Short, we can bring our dog, usually moves pretty fast. Staff is always friendly. Greens & fairways are usually maintained pretty well. Golf carts have been hit or miss in the past, but we had a good one this time.

This course is alright if you are a beginner. If you are a better golfer.... not really a challenge plus not worth the price they charge. So here is the good: The greens were the best part of the course.. Rolled pretty true and well taken care of by the staff. The staff in the office was pretty friendly and got us on our way...Now for the bad.... The driving range was chewed up and had no signs telling people not to hit drivers on it. Yet one of the staff members seemed annoyed at us and told us no drivers allowed. Again. Signs saying that would have been helpful. The tee boxes would chewed up and they aren't any signs directions you to the next holes. I would not play this course again and certainly wouldn't digest it to friends. Giant waste of time!

Greens were in good condition, which was unexpected based on previous rounds. Fairways were in good shape too. Not too busy, so it was a nice pace of play. Staff was friendly and helpful. Going back next weekend!

Good, beginner course. Easy layout, greens were in good shape for this course although pretty flat and not many breaks. I played by myself between two twosomes and pace was still quick.

Overall really enjoyed the course and will play it again. Positive experience with 2 exceptions. First time to play the course, so everything related to the soccer-related tees and holes threw me off. I'll have a better understanding next time. The other item was actually dangerous. I was almost hit by a number of range balls while on the green on the 9th hole. Some teenage boys were hitting cross range in my direction. It took me a minute or 2 to determine where the balls were coming from.

We have played once a week for the past 3 weeks and every time was just perfect. The people are great, the atmosphere is relaxed and the course is challenging enough but very playable. Unfortunately we are leaving Austin this weekend but will be returning in August. We will definitely be playing here again then.

We had a terrific time at the course today. It took us two hours to play the 9 holes in a very relaxed atmosphere. A foursome was very slow ahead of us & they let us play through making our game much more enjoyable.

My wife & I enjoy playing 9 holes in a relaxed atmosphere. We are not the greatest golfers nor are we very competitive. We are always trying to improve though & we appreciated having the time to try new things. We are visiting Austin from Canada & we will be back several times before we leave.

I took lessons at this campus about 5 years ago, and the course conditions have changed considerably for the good. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. I took my grandson and his friend for their first 9-hole game and it was a great experience for them and me. This is a great course if you are learning to play.
