About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Great round
Great course for the value. Range balls are included, cart usb charger works, starter and pro shop employees are nice to speak with. Finished our round in 3 hours, had a great time!

Fun layout.
I enjoyed the layout of the course. The greens were very slow and heavily sanded so putting/chipping was basically a guessing game. Fairways and boxes were in good shape. Range balls are included with your round which makes it worth the $45 to me. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Since it’s newly renovated, I think with1-2 more seasons of growth it will be a great course.

First time
Staff was great at check in and the young lady working the snack bar was friendly. Greens were coming in but the fairways were in need of some attention. The layout was ok but no beverage cart.

Greens were slow and it looked liked the same holes were used for many days. Fairway were thin in most places. Not sure if this is typical for Florida in October. Based on prices near by I would still play it again.

Good experience
This was a good value for the money. Nice layout, tight in spots. Fairways and tees in decent shape. Greens rolled true but a bit slower than they looked. Staff and starter were great. Great pace of play…was even waved through by a fivesome (we were a threesome). Good solid place to play with a reasonable fee.

Course was good for my abilities
This was my first time playing. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I was surprised that range balls was included in the price of green fees. I was playing solo and the course was having a slow day so I was able to tee off ahead of my tee time. The greens were in great shape and faster then I was used to. The fairways had patches where grass was needed. Overall I was pleased with the course and will play again when in Destin

Great
They have come a long way from 2 years ago when we last played it. A ton of improvements. Well worth it. Just don't be in any kind of hurry, members still get out there with foursome and fivesomes and absolutely will not let you play through. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Great family friendly course
Very friendly people at this course. I have not had a bad experience in multiple rounds. Family friendly. Pace of play is great and course is a great layout.

Fall Golf in the FL Panhandle
Finally the extreme humidity and heat has left the area. It was still a little warm, but the humidity is below 50% and golfing is much more enjoyable. The course is in great shape and the greens are putting true. Fairways are great too.
