About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Pleasant Experience
From the drive through the neighborhood you could tell better days were in the rear view mirror. The course and facilities reflected the same vibe as I entered the pro shop for check-in. The staff were super and engaging and as a first-timer I was handed a course booklet. After being paired with a friendly couple from Canada we were on our way starting on the back 9.
Like many older courses this one had seen better days, most apparent on the brown fairways and the often dangerous cart paths. Tee boxes, greens, and bunkers were all in good shape.
The warm weather and congenial golf-mates made our 4 hour pace of play a very pleasant experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed the course design. Challenges for every hole. Had a 2:00 tee time followed a foursom and completed the round under 4 hours. Front nine greens in average condition with some issues. Back nine greens are superb with true roll. Large enough for a three club differences. Wife stated best course of the 16 she has played in Florida.

Lots of character
Not knowing what to except! Shalimar pointe golf course offered a little big of everything! Greens were near perfect and the winter fairways were as good as you could except! Price was fair staff was friendly beers were cold
Challenging but wide enough fairways
We liked the layout and greens were in great shape. We arrived early and were able to play right away. Numerous tee boxes made it user fry for my wife. Would definitely return next time we’re in the area.
4h45mins round...
Played this course a few times in the past. The greens have dramatically improved since the fall. The fairways and rough we're all yellow and very hard. Lots of sand areas outside the bunkers along the fairways and rough. Course was busy but the pace of play was horrible. Took us 4h45mins to play 18. The marshal was out and not doing much to accelerate the pace. Will not pay $40 for a round here again, and will wait until they improve the course some more.

It’s slightly better
I came down back in September and played when it was the absolute worst golf course I’ve ever played. Literally!!
I didn’t even want to go back but was talked Into it. I must say the course has improved from last September. But I still wouldn’t ever pay the 40 dollars a person that they request. There are Far more affordable and great looking courses around to not waste money
