About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Spring Play
Value of round was good but the fairwasy need work and the greens were fok.
I appreciate the review and it's fair in our current state. We lost our pumphouse and irrigation system during hurricane Sally in the Fall. That took away our ability to water course the course for eight weeks and apply our usual overseeding. The thinning of the grass we experienced then is really showing now. We are working hard on the course but really need the warm temperatures back to help fill some areas back in. Please be patient with us during this transition.

Great course, slight catfish
Based on the pictures, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club is beautiful. And in person, it was. For $33, I got 18 holes and a cart. Great value. However, I was catfished by the pictures. See, I was enamored by the course, until I found the green. The greens had some weird patchy blue substance all over every single one of them. You will not see such filth on their pictures, however. The people at the counter were very cordial. It was refreshing. And then I was brought back down to my cynical views when some FLICKFACE worker eating some wafers was giving me lip. Saying I can’t share a bag with my buddy. We traveled here, and did not have room for two bags. I told the guy to go fly a kite, because I am a paying customer on this course, and no tee times were booked behind my own (We let everyone behind us through). Anyway, great value, some nice staff and some cuckolds, great scenery, fairways, and tee boxes. We won’t talk about the greens.
I would argue that half decent greens are pretty standard at a course too.

Regarding the sharing of clubs, it's pretty standard at most clubs to require all players to have their own set.

Very cool layout
Had a blast....challenging but still fun for intermediate level golfer
Decent course...poor staff person.
The course was good and laid out well. The pace was slow but I expected it as a single. However, the foursomes I encountered were courteous and continued to wave me on to hit. My only issue was with one of the staff. I’d call earlier to apologize for being late. Golf Now used the word “Drive” in the course address but it is actually “Road”. I should have checked more carefully, but I entered the address in WAZE the evening before and did not pay attention that it was not in Shalimar. I’m a visitor to Florida. When I called to apologize for being late, the gentleman I spoke with was very understanding and encouraged me to come anyway as there were openings other than the tee time I’d made. However, upon arrival, that man had left and another was there in charge. He was impatient as I tried to explained and said there were also streets by those names in Shalimar. Obviously to him, it was not a valid excuse. I left for about five minutes and when I returned asked where the tee box was. His response was that I had not been listening when he told me the first time. He was right because I never heard him, I apologized again, this time for inattentiveness. My final apology is for not coming back to this course when I return to Florida.

Rough conditions
Very little grass in fairways and all tight lies. Fairways very brown.

Excellent course. Demanding and great for mid to high handicappers. .
Design and routing - very nice. Conditioning - lacking.
Routing and layout of course is very good - with better conditioning, it would be very enjoyable. Would love to see the ownership/mgmt of this track turn it around.... you can tell it has had glory days before. Hope they can get it restored to those times!

Course challenging
Course is challenging for novice or midrange golfer. Great layout with great fairways and greens..
Very good round of golf.
Took a friend who played this course . He was impressed. We had a very well paced round. Love the cart guy.
Winter golf
Nice layout. Played round in less than 4 hours. Winter golf with minimal grass growth. Definitely a place to visit again.
