About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Nice Looking Course
I enjoyed the layout but the fairways and rough was very thin, it was hard to make a good shot.
I'm sure as the weather get's better the course conditions will get better.

Poor Conditions
The course is dry and sandy. Couldn’t find a good lie anywhere. Greens are bare and bumpy. I love the layout of this course and really wish they could bring it back to life. They shouldn’t be charging more than $25 to play because of conditions.

Shalimar Pointe
Good layout. The dormant Bermuda was thin in the fairways, that led to a lot of bare sandy lies; but for $25 it was a great place to get your swings in. The greens were medium speed and rolled fine. A great value for the price.

Shalimar for Beginners
Found a great rate to play with some friends for the day. It was great. The staff is nice and very helpful, the course (January in Florida) was fairly dry, cool, and breezy. We found the sand traps to be challenging but not discouraging. Our group consisted of both advanced and novice players. We especially enjoyed the variety of par 4’s to test our abilities. Would definitely recommend this course for a fun day out, just be aware of the homes located on the course.
I would not return
Three big issues:
1- No fairway markers
2- No distance GPS
3- Old style gas golf carts
I won't be back.

Nice layout.
It was January and 40 degrees! Very fast and firm due to the time of year. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Hope to play it when it’s warm and the grass is green and growing.
