About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Great Course Great Staff
Played a foggy round but managed to get it in before the thick stuff came in. Course was in good shape.
The staff was very helpful especially to one of our foursome that had not played before.
Very enjoyable day.
Worth Playing
Golf course is user friendly, was in decent winter condition and is worth while playing. We encountered slow play, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
pleasantly surprised by a very good course
the course layout is great with lots of different holes to challenge your game - play your right yardage and you should like it. staff was very friendly and welcoming. it was 'winter' so the course showed some thin spots, but tees were good and greens were certainly puttable. as a Snowbird staying in Miramar Beach, I would come more often if not for the distance. I do plan to play Shalimar again !

No thanks, Never Again
Whole front waited on a single waiting on 3 - 5somes. Went to front 9 again after turn. Assistant Super said my son and I should join 1 some, who never wanted us to join him, and play would get better. He said 2 singles and a foursome just teed off front. Told him no thanks. Never caught anyone and played front in 1 hour and 4 minutes as opposed to 2 hrs 15 behind the fivesomes. Would like to thank him for his honesty!!!!!!. My BS meter was right again. He just wanted to start watering, which he did anyway. Never again will this extremely out of shape course see me.
Enjoyable outing
32 Degrees when my gf and I arrived . The very friendly young lady had fresh brewed coffee ready and waiting . I checked both my gf and myself in and it went seamlessly with a friendly man getting the check in done promptly and courteously. I’m from TN and we don’t have the sand that Florida has so we have a lot more grass . The course was generally in fine shape and we enjoyed playing it and we will again soon.

First time here. I visit & play Destin every December. This course pales in comparison to some of the more spendy courses in Destin, but if you get a good deal on it it’s definitely worth playing. Old school layout and is relatively short

Exquisite layout
Beautiful course to play! Everything was in very good shape. The greens were quite fast to putt on, but just a slight bumpy. But all in all, New Years Day playing golf is better than working!

Challenging layout, fun to play here.
Course is in good shape and the fairways are filling in nicely and the greens are really coming around. There were a few spots on a couple of the greens but overall they were really nice and puts were tricky to read on some greens. I recommend if you are in this area that you should seek out this course and play it a couple of times.

Golf course condition
Look, if you don’t like paying a lot, it’s great. $72 for two? How do you beat it? The course has a great layout, but obviously struggling for cash to take care of the course. Pretty tough conditions, and I don’t think there is a watering system.? Not any grass to speak of. Cheap is the largest plus.
Carts are gas without computers and very few yardage markers

Not great
The course has potential but the condition is poor. The fairways are spotty with some really thin areas. The green were very slow, bumpy and had a lot of other weeds in them. There were also a bunch of dead spots and bare dirt.
